What Virus was Lou Dobbs Pushing...EPIDEMIC! What about the Flu this
year that was supposed to have half the country dead? What about the Flu scare the year before along with SAR's?

What happened to all those folks who couldn't get the flue vaccine last Fall. Have they covered up all the dead bodies because the drug companies couldn't deliver the vaccines because the major one had to be shut down because of terrible sanitation report?

How many of these scares have we had since 9/11 about viruses.

What's this one about? I didn't catch it...because the hype turned my brain off and I turned off his show when I saw some Chalabi type on supporting "bombing Mecca." or something like that...:-(

1. Not enough vaccine to go around.
Not as many people got vaccinated. Not as much flu. It should make a person wonder, huh?

9. He said they were in the southwestern states......
I wrote southeast when I meant to write southwest. I didn't say there were "any" cases. You asked what Dobbs said. He said it's in the southwestern states primarily in California.

3. Right wing nut jobs like Michael Savage and the self professed
...aloholic that breaks his anonymity whenever it serves his purposes, can't think of his name, on AM radio in the mornings between 9:00am and noon, these guys have been pushing Arab genocide for the past 6 weeks very aggressively and openly.

4. The flu he's talking about is probably the
bird flu that's rampant in Asia right now. Google bird flu. The WHO is afraid it will mutate and pass from human to human. Right now as far as they know it passes from bird to human and is not very good at it. There's no vaccine for it.

The "Chalabi type" you are talking about is Tancredo, republican rep. from Colorado who said if suicide bombers attack American cities, we should retaliate by nuking Mecca. Pretty irresponsible and dangerous talk coming from a representative. Sounds more like something you'd hear from a drunk, sermonizing from Mt. Barstool.

6. I've kept up on the Bird Flu but Dobbs/CNN Headline HYPE reminded me
of all the other "headline hype" we've had in the past few years. Lyme Disease has been more of an "undereported" problem in the US than the latest Scare from the Cables, IMHO...

....the bird flu in China.

Some how I get the feeling that you are putting down Lou Dobbs. I guess thats OK, but if you ask me he just reports the news. Some scientist are worried about the bird flu, because it has been changing forms quickly. They are afraid that it may start jumping from human to human, although at the moment it has only spread from birds to humans.

8. H5N1 Bird flu. 50% mortality rate. It has recently jumped species
Vietnam and China couldn't contain it and it is now found in wild geese, and other migratory birds.

It is only a matter of when, not if. This is SERIOUS.

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO HUMAN IMMUNITY TO IT and it liquifies your lungs in a couple of days.

Buckle up.

Bird Flu Experts
Warn Of Pandemic
By Jonathan Kent
BBC News
7-4-5

KUALA LUMPUR -- Scientists meeting in Malaysia have warned the world has reached a tipping point in the fight against bird flu.

They are calling on rich nations to put resources into countries fighting the disease, or risk a global flu pandemic.

snip

WHO regional spokesman Peter Cordingley said rich nations appeared complacent, and warned that the impact of a human flu pandemic would be on a far greater scale than the Sars outbreak two years ago.

"We don't know what the fatalities will be," he said. "We can expect it to be very high.

"There will be enormous economic dislocation. Stock markets will close, international travel and trade will be limited.

11. I'm far more afraid of Bush than the bird flu.
Bush uses torture, the bird flu would be a quick death.

12. There is truth in that, but never fear an adversary.
Be brave, Grasshopper.

Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud,
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
