I've come begging for help again...
A poster on another site has been off on a three day rant about how the liberals are bashing Bush and it's not fair cause the mainstream press never treated Clinton that way. I let him go for awhile,but I finally had to respond. What set him off was the Walter Cronkite piece http://www.craigslist.org/sfc/pol/16646229.html. Anyway,I probably should of ignored him,but now he keeps coming back with this:

<snip>And please do a search on Clinton and find something that rivals what Cronkite or the other yahoo said about Bush and Ashcroft. Be fair and find someone who is on the level of these two.<snip>

The other guy he's referring to when he says "these two" is Jonathan Chait,who I've never heard of before. He did write a good article though!http://www.tnr.com/doc.mhtml?pt=3M3%2FDZQsgnokTczsUE11kh%3D%3D

Anyway...here's my problem. I KNOW Clinton was trashed regularly,but it's hard to top Walter Cronkite. Plus,everytime I find a good lead in the search engine,the links are long dead. Does anyone out there remember something that might give me a response? Thanks!

1. That's an odd argument your friend is making
He expects liberals to defend Bush? Did any conservatives ever defend Clinton? BTW, Walter Cronkite just recently announced he's a liberal. And he's no longer a journalist.

The guy's going down in history because an intern went down on him? Go figure.

Filegate? Try C-SPAN for fun.

Whitewater AND Wen Ho Lee? The New York Times went berserko.

Clinton even got blamed for the death of Vince Foster. No link, just memory.

BTW: Projects like that proposed by the dimwit are time wasters. He knows he's wrong. He just wants to get you to spend your time proving him wrong.

3. Thanks!!
and just a second ago I found this little gem on my own.

http://www.nationalreview.com/derbyshire/derbyshire021501.shtml

<snip>But this is all rationalization. More than anything, I admit, I hate Chelsea because she is a Clinton. Not just genetically a Clinton, but in spirit and habit and manner. The evidence for this is now, I think, sufficient to indict.

<snip>

I've never heard of this guy..but it's a genuine opinion piece. I'm thinking bashing Chelsea beats Bush bashing.

Thanks for the help! I love this site.:)

6. How about a different tact.
One of the most respected and credible journalists in US history is talking. Maybe this guy should listen.

I'll toss that in right after I hit him with THIS!

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/1996/11/07/MN74142.DTL

<snip>
Later, Jennings invited Brinkley to make the final remarks of the night.

Brinkley said, ``OK, fine. I'm not going to say much. Among things I admire, almost near the top is creativeness, and everyone in this group has it. It shows in your work, it shows in your thinking, and it shows in your speech, what you do, what you write, what you say.

``And it's one reason this group is so terrific. Bill Clinton has none of it. He has not a creative bone in his body. Therefore, he's a bore, and will always be a bore.''

<snip>

David Brinkley is no Walter Cronkite..but he said it on air while he was anchoring!

(on edit) I found this while following up one of the links octafish posted..thanks octafish!)and then edited again to spell 'edit' correctly..lol
