What are the odds that our leadership is a step ahead? |
|
What if...
The 'sounds okay to me'regarding Roberts coming from the upper echelon of the Democratic Party is just tradecraft?
Maybe they're not up in arms because that's what Rove wants us to do. Maybe they will ask the tough questions, dig up the dirt, and generally delay (but not obstruct) any vote on Roberts until...
Until Fitzgerald indicts at least one high ranking White House official, at which point the public opinion will most certainly turn against Bush, thereby allowing the Dem leaders some wiggle room for a filibuster?
It isn't impossible...but is it likely?

That's going to make a huge dent in public opinion if it's allowed to get out. Or so those who have already seen the stuff say.

3. see that's what I'm talking about |

The fact that Roberts is a stooge does NOT HAVE TO BE THE WEAPON he is defeated with! Let's use our sharpest swords to accomplish the same thing.

9. It's coming out in a Friday dump |
|
But at least it's not the originally scheduled Friday dump, before the LONG holiday weekend. Keith’s Barbeque Central

It depends upon when indictments are handed down, and even more importantly, who they're handed down against.
If it happens in August, and involves Several administration officials, perhaps including the head honcho himself, then it would provide the Democrats all the wiggle room they want.
Watch for Shrubs #'s to drop into the 30's, and serious problems to arise for him to hold things together completely. His focus would have to change, and provide less time to fully back his candidate, and you never know what the Dems might dig up.

4. I may be misinformed but I think the vote and the indictments |
|
are roughly set for October...surely the DC insiders can figure out how long to stretch the SCOTUS confirmation process...

6. Here's why he's going to get some "attention." 'This is tradecraft. |
|
They can't appear irrational because of the new deal. You can bet they're with the civil rights groups, etc. working out some timed releases. But here's why they can't let him pass quietly: Chedk this thread by a very bright DUer--AlGore-O8--Roberts gave Jebby advice in 2000 on how to declare the electors for * even if Gore won the recount!!!You know who else helped in Florida 2000, staged a preppy riot in Miami? You're right for $800, John Bolton. Yeah, and the bastards did it again in 2004: A comprehensive explanation of fraud--text and key links

7. I'm not talking about letting him pass quietly |
|
I'm talking about setting the table...we need to use the most effective avenue of attack available (IMHO, DSM/Rovegate) and hopefully stall a vote long enough for the damage to be done, and maybe we can pull off a major coup...

10. I agree. We can multitask, can the press? Noh, but the people are |
|
waking up, without much press help. Fitzgerald is a big factor in this. If he nails Rove and implicates Cheney, watch out, fur will fly. If he names * as a 'person of interest' then Roberts will become null and void. Lets hope1

11. No. They have different priorities than you and I do. |
|
They just want to get along with their co-workers. This is just "business as usual" for them. It might seem like "life or death" to the rest of us, but honestly, they have probably already traded in their votes for some silly piece of "bad video games get marked" bullsh*t.
The only time they care about your opinion is when they are asking you for money.
