Something to ponder about treason
How do you accuse men of commiting treason against a country to which they have never been loyal?

1. By nature of their positions in our national government.
If you don't plan on being honorable, don't be president (even if you think God is telling you to be president.)

2. In the definition, "allegiance to one's own gov't" simply implies US
citizenship. Unfortunately, I don't think Rove will fall under the legal definition because the "adherence to the enemy" element will be hard to prove, and it is my understanding that a person has to meet both elements. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a treasonous SOB, but legally, hard to prove. On the plus side, there are other crimes he could be indicted for (perjury for one), and I hope they nail him for something!

Treason. A breach of allegiance to one's government, usually committed through levying war against such government or by giving aid or comfort to the enemy. The offense of attempting by overt acts to overthrow the government of the state to which the offender owes allegiance; or of betraying the state into the hands of a foreign power. Treason consists of two elements: adherence to the enemy, and rendering him aid and comfort. Cramer v. U. S., U.S.N.Y., 325 U.S. l, 65 S.Ct. 918, 9327 89 L.Ed. 1441. See 18 U.S.C.A. § 2381. A person can be convicted of treason only on the testimony of two witnesses, or confession in open court. Art. III, Sec. 3, U.S. Constitution.

4. Well Bush is certainly guilty then. If we could just get him in court
for aiding and comforting our enemies in Saudi Arabia.

3. Woah
I didn't mean legal, I was asking semi-rhetorically. We all accuse Rove and Bush of treason, but I see no evidence they have ever demonstrated loyalty to the United States

5. I guess the answer remains the same...

it doesn't matter if they have ever demonstrated loyalty, we don't accuse bush the lesser and turd-blossom because of their attitudes, it is treasonous simply by virtue of their citizenship, legally or not, their attitudes don't matter per se, it is treason because of the attitude of their fellow citizens> Fuck em!:patriot:
