So who's the new Deep Throat?
Who's passing all this info along, all of a sudden, after 2 years of silence?

Any theories about this?

1. Some of it is from reporters or aids that were on Air Force 1
Edited on Thu Jul-21-05 12:48 AM by skids
...on the trip to Africa, it would seem.

(EDIT: I think they are taking a tip from Rove, and passing the info to other journalists in order to remain anonymous, so they don't lose their ability to be lied to... um, I mean, "access")

2. Retired CIA. Journalists who have been before the GJ can get together
and talk to each other.

We have not seen one wink from inside those 8 blacked out pages. Nobody on the inside is leaking. Even the description of the blacked out pages is putting info together from the outside.

This is not Ken Starr. This is a real prosecutor.

4. not so sure about Powell
Check out his role in My Lai and other whitewashes. OTOH he may have since developed a conscience given his reported disgust levels. It's a tossup.

5. Those Stars on the Wall at Langley are speaking out.
Bet your bottom dollar on that - this is not going away. WaPo is putting the memo story on the front page...Roberts only took the spotlight away for a Day!

6. George Tenet
Tenet sent Wilson
Tenet was blamed when Bush ignored Wilson's report
Tenet Blamed for all intellegence failures
Tenet is a Clinton appointee, he's seen Bush decimate his CIA

Tenet resigned for 'personal reasons' days befor the FBI announce an investigation into leaked intelligence on cracking codes. Intel got leaked to Chalabi who passed it on to Iran.

Judith Miller won a pulitzer for being Bush's tool to promote WMD reports and interviews with Chalabi. That's why Millers in jail right now.

Tenet knows all the secrets. He knows espionage when he sees it. He knows he's been a scapegoat and even a Medal Of Freedom can't hide that.

That's why Tenet requested the special prosecutor -- he's the guy that got Fiztgerald and the Grand Jury to this point.

Rove is only a tangent in this investigation. Rove is the smokescreen that is allowing Fitzgerald to assemble Tenet's evidence.

No amount of paper shredding and coverup can out smart a Clinton CIA guy like Tennet. He knew a COngressional hearing would be a joke, that's why he went to the Grand Jury.

George "slam dunk' Tennet is going to earn that Medal of Freedom if Fitzgerald connects all the dots in a bulletproof indictment.

8. We all know one thing...it isn't due to
investigative reporting, but now that Rove has been weakened they all smell blood in the air and each wants to get the inside scoop now.

11. Powell or Ex-CIA
I'd say right now it's 60-40 for Powell, if only because of the clear smear on Powell when the original story of the whole plane ride was leaked/spinned by Rove's lawyers that had Powell w/ his hands on the memo. This is payback.
