If it's people passing out in the tube stations, I can see that. They're horribly claustrophobic. Not a good place to be stuck in a crowd.

the British authorities kept insisting the explosions were a power surge. It wasn't until the bus blew up that they began to admit what was really going on.

it just seems strange that even though these might be homemade explosives, that all 3 of them wouldn't work.

23. Burned sulfur can kind of smell like rubber |
|
Since rubber uses sulfur for vulcanizing.
If someone mixed up a batch of black powder and got it wrong, it might smell just like that. You'd have to be pretty incompetent to make it wrong, though. It's pretty easy.

11. Expanding the Cordone and evacuating nearby buildings? |
|
Edited on Thu Jul-21-05 08:32 AM by DistressedAmerican
Between reprots of a "sour smell" and these new evacuations, I am beginning to think this is a chemical device situation. Small explosion, sour smell and evvacuating nearby buildings. Very odd...

well apart from explosives.
Nothing on radiological, biological.
Sounds like the police have followed one of the culprits into UCL hospital (A&E dept).
