I watched the movie "The Siege" the other night
It really freaked me out. The movie definitely seemed to have some foreshadowing going on...

1. It was ahead of its time
That eitehr means the makers of it it had incredible foresight, or else what has happened since 9-11 has been very predictable because our society is predictable.

Or maybe some combination of the two.

Anyway a very good film and, like The Candidate and Network, were very prescient.

2. I remember watching it a couple of months after 911
(I had seen it some time before that, but 911 reminded me of it) and thinking that it was very prescient.

3. I watched it for the first time not too long ago.
It was frighteningly accurate, it turns out. You know, I think we are painfully predictable in our reactions to things. That's why someone like Karl Rove can manipulate so many people so well. I don't think he's really that smart -- he just knows how to play upon people's fears and human nature. Any good sociopath can do that -- in fact, most of us could except we choose not to because of a little thing called morals and ethics. Karl ought to look into it sometime or he'll have to do the Lee Atwater death-bed begging for forgiveness thing which I don't think gets you much.

Anyway, I think any good writer is also able to see how people are and what they would do in any given situation.

4. always thought that movie was incredible
It really was before its time, i believe it was made in 1998. I watched right after Sept. 11 and was just in shock, it predicted alot what was happening, except the prisons in New York City have been moved to Cuba. Wish they would make more movies like this that speak out on all of this.
