Clark button -- "dissent protects democracy" |
|
Edited on Sat Sep-27-03 08:08 AM by familydoctor
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/030926/170/5e2j8.htmlHere is a picture of Clark wearing a pro First Amendment button on his lapel. Seems like a good message to me.

That is rich.
People disagree with you and because of that they are attempting to suppress speech?
How silly you've become! And you do not seem to let an opportunity to bash pass you by, do you?

7. I am reminded of the saying: "even the devil can quote scripture" |
|
My father used to say that all the time.

9. Great quote. I love what Clark says, revile what he's done. Conflicted... |
|
doesn't begin to describe my reaction to the man and the candidate. If a brilliant man puts most of his ability to dissent in storage for a career, what kind of shape is it in when he retires? Does he use it with all his strength to make up for lost time by playing saviour? Or is it too flexible and musty to be used in the direct sunlight? I don't know...

11. "Revile What He's Done" -- Honestly Curious |
|
What exactly do you revile? During his military career, he basically executed (very well) the orders of his civilian higher-ups. I'm curious what, specifically, you take issue with. Thanks.

4. great button! I like this guy! |
|
I'd say the opposition to free speech is one of the greatest problems we face right now.
Go Clark!

The Nation magazine produced them. The other ones in the series are: "Oil War," "Surveillance Undermines Liberty," "Secrecy Promotes Tyranny," and "No to Empire."

8. Clark hit his theme hard in his recent flury of publicity |
|
And the timing was great. The Repukes had again used the "dissent undermines Shrub" talking point before the UN debacle last week.
From what I could tell, the neocons got zero traction on this reprehensible tactic and Clark's "Dissent is Patriotic" helped shut it down.
