Right Wing Extremest Republican - A Useful Phrase
Try using it in front of the name of every Republican who deserves it (its a very few who don't). Use it like the Republicans use the word "Liberal".

Here are a few examples, first without the tag and then with. See which version you like better.

The Ambassador met with George Bush, the President, yesterday.
The Ambassador met with George Bush, the right wing extremest Republican President, yesterday.

or

Later in the day Karl Rove, Adviser to the President, was ushered to an awaiting police van.

Later in the day Karl Rove, right wing extremest Republican Adviser to the President, was ushered to an awaiting police van.

Or maybe this:

Richard Cheney, Vice President of the United States, resigned in disgrace this evening as a result of ...."
Richard Cheney, right wing extremest Republican Vice President of the United States, resigned in disgrace this evening as a result of ..."

See how nicely it rolls off the tongue? It types easily as well. Give it a try.

6. in my dialogue travels, the phrase Radical Republican is having the best
effect for me because it overcomes and pre-empts the SOP repuke counter-argument a la Goldwater from his 1964 convention acceptance speech about "extremism" being a good thing:

"I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!"

7. Extreme Reactionary Bible-Thumping, Saber Rattling, Corporatist Theo-Cons
Rabid Extreme-Right-Wing Reactionary Theocratic Neo-Conservatives.

...or something like that.

One has to choose between something that flows off the tongue easily, like "right-wing extremest Republican", but leaves out much critical descriptive information, and something that comes close to an inclusive description, like the post title, but does not flow off the tongue.

Possibly a highly paid DLC consultant can run some focus groups and poll emotional reactions to test words to come up with the proper description.

9. I think the word "neocon" has become the real opposite of "liberal".
It's different in the sense that the word "liberal" had to be actively demonized by the right. Neocons earned their hated status through their own actions, of course.

Most people who *are* neocons won't admit to it. Like modern liberals.
