"Tasers: A Reassessment" (Please Read)
http://www.indybay.org/uploads/sj-taser-review.pdf

-why is it that those who are entrusted to protect and serve the public have blindly put their faith in a for-profit private firm?

3. Thanks for the support. The reality is that TaserInt LIED about...
the safety of the gun. How can anyone believe that the usage of physical force can exist without a potential risk involved? Tasers totally incapacitate the subject, that's pretty powerful. Such a weapon should not be used lightly.

TaserINT lies, people DIE!

4. per the amnesty international report
taser international is also encouraging use of tasers in situation where lethal force would not be used.

5. So Civilians get 5X the ZAP that Cops in training do?
Edited on Thu Jul-21-05 04:57 PM by BiggJawn
Our local university is in the process of equipping it's officers with Bernie Kerik's Stock Prod.

Wonder if this will be the year we see deaths on Campus?

7. I only respect those few departments that...
use the Taser at a higher level and mandate that all officers must be tased for 5 SECONDS in order to use them. Too many departments don't do this. If a cop is going to use this on someone, they should know what it feels like.

See this example of a RESPONSIBLE department.

8. If they were truly responsible...
They wouldn't be touting the damn thing as "Non-Lethal".
Shit, that's been disproved what, 100 times already?

9. True. But Port Royal SC has a good policy....
and they had to be 'tased' too. Scottdale Arizona cops don't have to be tased because of the 'risks' involved. :wtf:?

I support less-than lethal technology but I can't support the Taser (based upon the tons of evidence I have researched).

6. "tasers are a safe non lethal weapon" but
"we won't let our officers test them on each other because of injuries"

:wtf:

10. Because it is a use of force, there is always a danger...
involved in using force. Taser and their honky/corprofacsist founders are criminals for their lies.
