Hardball: Did Matthews SayThat Ari Called Rove From Air Force One? |
|
Daily Kos is saying that Chris Matthews reported that Ari Fleischer called Karl Rove from AF-1, the day that thy received the Wilson/Plame memo.
Someone on Daily Kos said that in the Ken Starr Clinton investigation that Starr subpeonaed all of those calls because they are all RECORDED!
If Fleischer spoke to Rove about this on that phone and if they conspired to out Plame...
White House is about to explode!

3. If Fitzgerald got their conversation transcribed...no wonder |

The judges FLIPPED. I wonder if they actually strategized how to leak this info.
Fleischer is in deep doo if this is true.
Hell, they all are.

You said Fitzpatrick but I know what you meant. I heard Fitzgerald was seeking info on the calls from Air Force One at the time of the Africa trip.
I also heard they are seriously looking into Fleischer's involvement too! If you put together the leaks from Rove, Libby and possibly Fleisher.....that could point to a nice conspiracy indictment!!

4. Well, I can certainly see why it would have precipitated leaving... |
|
but, do you think he threatened "not to play ball" with any further plans, that he got a sense of guilt over his role to date, that he figured out that he'd F__ked up big time and hoped to escape the consequences by leaving... or what?

5. When did Fleischer officially announce his departure? |
|
I thought he decided to go before this. That decision could have emboldened him.

29. But didn't Fleisher back off the "16 words" too? |
|
I thought he was the one who did that and then george's regime had to scramble to cover for him.

Sorry to act cautious on this but where is any of this information coming from? How do we know what they talked about? Maybe they were going to "meet up" for a little lovey time that night? I want it to be true more than anybody but we have to be cautious. We just need to concentrate on making this story get back to the lead story on all news broadcasts.
Impeach the whole f'n White House!

28. Part of the fun is speculating. The same thing goes on |
|
in the Mac community. Of course this isn't some upcoming gadget coming from the mind of The Steve, this is about nearly 1,800 dead soldiers, and tens of thousands of dead Iraqis.
We have waited a long time for a chance to rid our country of this corrupt gang, so it's OK to be happy.

13. I watched and I heard that Ari read the Memo but I didn't hear that |
|
he called Rove.
I wasn't able to focus exclusively on it but I didn't take that away from the segment.
What I took away from the segment was that they confirmed that Ari had read the Memo. They also said that Ari wasn't a high enough official to start spreading the news re Valerie Wilson on his own. He would have needed someone higher up to initiate that action.

14. Doesn't this let Rove off the hook? |
|
What am I missing? I need to go read the Kos entry. It sounds like Ari is the leak and the person who knew it was classified. If he then called Rove then Rove is off the hook unless he lied about it or new she was undercover. :argh: I hope not.

17. It wouldn't let Rove off the hook. If they planned this, it's conspiracy. |
|
Either way, you know Fitzgerald has listened to every phone call on that trip to Africa and back.
If they did anything shifty and if they were sloppy about it, he's got them BIG TIME.

Rove probably had security clearances to hear this from Ari. That means that Ari was allowed to tell Rove without "leaking" it to Rove. What happened after that, however was a conspiracy to expose a covert agent.

I did hear him say something along the lines of Fitzgerald subpoenaing the records from Air Force One which would show if there were conversations from the plane to anyone of interest. Like I said I may have missed it.

21. I don't think he said that-I went back to hear David Schuster's |
|
report and he said that Ari and NOVAK had a phone call. No place in the MSNBC Schuster report did he say that Ari and ROVE had a call. I didn't hear the whole program, though.

22. I don't think Matthews said Ari called Rove. He said the records |
|
of the phone calls will show if Ari called Rove. We don't know yet if he did... but I'll bet Fritz knows. It will make my day the instant I hear that Rove was called. Those asses know their calls are recorded...how could they be so stupid to call Rove? Never mind!

23. So, did Ari have that kind of clearance? |
|
Would he have been able to see that memo? Maybe I am missing something but does the Press Secretary have that kind of security clearance to see top secret memos? Doesn't he just report (spew) what ever they tell him to say?
