I'm Pro-Choice and Pro-Life

Let me explain.

I'm Pro-Choice in that I believe a woman has a right to either bring a pregnancy to birth or she may choose to terminate that pregnancy with out any interference from the government. Every form of insurance, including state or federal coverage should guarantee her right to choose to terminate that pregnancy.

I'm Pro-Life in that I believe that if that woman chooses to bring that pregnancy to term, the birth of that child should have all the support we, as a society, can give. After the birth of that child, it is our obligation as tax-payers to fund his or her health care, provide the best education possible, provide a job for his or her parents, provide suitable housing and food for that family if it cannot be obtained, provide a safe and clean environment to live in, etc., etc.

Too often, many of those people who profess to be Pro-Life are really only Pro-Birth. Once they can use either personal, organizational or governmental coercion to force a woman to term, or if a woman chooses to bring a pregnancy to term by her own free will, they wash their hands of the situation. They oppose low cost housing, food stamps, state sponsored insurance, public education, and many other programs necessary for that same child to live a full life filled with opportunity. At this point, tax cuts are more important than life.


You see, I believe that my position is consistent, and that their's is not.

Adoption really needs to be easier. In most cases, it costs about 20,000 to adopt. I know this because we will probably adopt one day.

3. The real reason for "pro-life"ers

There is a real reason is a couple of things:

To ensure the poverty of minorites.

Entrap women.

More minos for the Army/Jobs/slaves, etc...

None of it is about wanting the child. They hate kids. :)

I agree with you 100 percent, that is a mirror image of my view on abortion. about two months ago, i saw a simliar letter to the editor in the Arkansas Democratic Gazette, i never thought of the pro life people only being pro birth, its such a good call/insight. Thanks for the post, :)
