Can John Paul Stevens Hold Out Till '09?
This is the SC seat that REALLY scares me. Stevens is 85. I don't think he'd retire, but he may well pass away before then. I REALLY hope he stays in for a few more years. PLEASE Justice Stevens! Hold out for as long as you can!

1. I don't remember where I read it..
but when O'Connor retired, one article listed him as being in good shape. You're right though - I have nightmares in which he passes-on in his sleep and Bush gets to replace him.

Another key question is.. can we get enough votes in the Senate in the midterm elections so that we can hold a nuclear-proof filibuster if needed? (or maybe even a majority?) I think we can.
