Clark is a joke
Note: this is a candidate bashing thread.

1. During last Thursday's CNBC debate, Clark delivered nothing but platitudes Arnold-style
2. He made himself look like an idiot by announcing he was a Democrat almost immediately before joining the race.
3. He does not have any clear agenda other than his "vision" which is a trite cliche
4. He supported the war/He did not support the war/He supported the war/He did not support the war...etc. He's too afraid to take a stand. He's a politician with no balls who is just being spoonfed by his advisors to make him appear "electable" and "moderate". Sounds more like a typical phoney politican to me.
5. I saw him on Newsnight on CNN last night and it was a pathetic sight. He was campaigning in a New Hampshire hair salon and delivered nothing but typical precooked answers.
6. I honestly don't think Clark is electable. He has no courage. He flip flops unlike any other Democrat in the race.
7. This guy is just a terrible politician and a terrible speaker. Kerry puts me to sleep, but at least Kerry is eloquent, verbose, and sounds like he knows what he's talking about. Clark sounds like he is repeating verbatim what his clan of advisors told him to say.
8. Clark is the Arnold Schwarzenegger of the Presidential election: he says what sounds good without offering a clear plan. At least Arnold took an unpopular stand against Indian gaming and unions. Clark is perhaps EVEN MORE generic than Arnold. Just because Clark has a "D" under his name doesn't change the fact that he's not very appealing.
9. Clark is a pro-NAFTA anti-domestic-industry puppet of corporate america.
10. Clark has nothing going for him besides his military record. So far he has been a terrible candidate and it doesn't look like it will change.

Clark will be destroyed by the Bush team. He is far too weak a candidate to throw Bush's smears in his face. He can't even defend himself against his Democratic rivals. I don't really care whether the majority here think Faux and Rush Limpwad are "scared" of Clark, I just don't like this guy at all. I;m not going to let middle America dictate terms of "electability". I personally loathe the military.

This surprises me. :eyes:

More flame-trolling. Another thread to let sink to the bottom. Bye-bye.

on edit: in a post chock full of silly remarks, the one that takes the cake is that you won't let middle America determine electability. Now THAT is comedy. Who the fuck else will determine it? A vocal minority?

LOLOLOL

Stop it! My sides are fucking KILLING me.

2. did you ever hear "Slimy Shrub"
articulate a plan before he was selected. No -and he can't do one now. I'll take any of the Democratic candidates over "Slimy Shrub." Sorry you don't think much of that military record but by damned, most of them are pretty darn good, decent people.

13. The enemy of my enemy is not always my friend but...
I'd vote Clark over Bush. Doesn't mean I have to blindly support a candidate based on his "electability". You know America's a backwards country when progressives like Kucinich are shunned by the media and the party while hacks like Clark get all the attention.

I can't be the only person who feels this way.

11. I don't mind candidate analysis or even bashing ,
but for the love of God please base your opinions on some actual data-some facts, a quote, SOMETHING.

Even by the standards of ignorant Clark-bashing threads in DU lately, this is bad, beyond silly, and terribly misguided.

Clark Tries to Explain Praise of Bush, Slap at Clinton

Red-faced Wesley Clark is trying to explain a speech he made in 2001 in which he praised the Bush administration and mocked the clueless Clinton administration.

The retired general noted in the speech at a GOP dinner in Arkansas that when he got to Washington in 1994, during the Clinton administration, he found that "We lost our direction in the world."

He said that Clinton's Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman John Shalikashvili told him, "Look, Wes, I hired you to be the strategist ... So tell me, what is our strategy?" Clark then added: "Well, I didn't have the faintest idea. He didn't either, and neither did anybody else."

In his speech Clark praised the Bushies. "I'm very glad we've got the great team in office, men like Colin Powell, Don Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice, Paul O'Neill - people I know very well - our president, George W. Bush. We need them there."

On Ronald Reagan: "We were really helped when President Ronald Reagan came in ... He was truly a great American leader. And those of us in the Armed Forces loved him, respected him and tremendously admired him."

On George H.W. Bush: "We will always be grateful to President George Bush for that tremendous leadership and statesmanship."

At the Democrat debate in New York, Clark was asked about his pro-Bush remarks and, in his latest flip-flop, "said his politics had changed,"

and Moore...

Moore Urged Clark to Run but Won't Endorse Him

18. My point exactly
This Clark can't be trusted. He's a joke and it's a darn shame a Progressive message board would be drooling over him.

20. You are misstating...Clark said he had been deceived by Bush into thinking
he was voting for a "compassionate conservative" when he voted for him and that had discovered that Bush was neither...this is why he turned against him....
