2. I don't think we can trust the Repukes

to act in a fair and honorable way, either. Look how they have shut out the Dems when considering legislation and nominations! Even during the Kennedy/Johnson years, when the GOP was at its weakest, their leaders were consulted on appointments and on important legislation. Sure, they might not have gotten their way, but I'd like to think that their input was given consideration; and even if it wasn't, it had to make them feel like they were a viable political party and not just some losers who could be shoved aside.

And the arrogance of the GOP when they do this is astounding! The makeup of Congress is much more evenly balanced than it was in 1964, when the Dems had overwhelming majorities in both houses. The 2006 elections, if allowed to proceed fairly, could swing either house back in the Democratic column. I'm hoping the Dems have good memories at that time, and realize that the GOP cannot be trusted.

3. Every time I hear the republican word, I think of Rove insulting

me and all liberals in our reaction to the 9/11 bombing. I'll never forget those rude, insulting, snide comments. I've spent twenty years in the Navy. How many years did KKKarl spend in the military? How has he helped this country? Oh I know, he outed a CIA agent. Well that certainly does not compare to twenty years in defense of this country.

They're fascists, they foment needless wars, they leak like crazy for propaganda purposes, they fabricate intelligence and use unreliable intelligence sources working on behalf of enemy nations.

There is no two ways about it. They're spying for the enemy and manipulating the government for the purposes of profiteering. They need to be shut down, comprehensively investigated, and whoever's acquitted can do their business under the auspices of a new political party.

Because they are nothing but hypocrites. I don't mean every republican but the leaders and mouthpieces. I'm so tired of political games that hurt all but the richest and most powerful. It's time to make them work for us, not the other way around.

10. The Republicans embody the worst aspects of America.

There are plenty of Americans like Bush, Rove, and the others - they're the pushy bastards you run into at the office, they're the corrupt criminals you read about in the newspaper, they're the Christian wackjobs who start a crusade against SpongeBob.

America is filled with unsavory characters like this. What's different now is that these people are in charge. Of EVERYTHING. They've got our country in a stranglehold and they're not letting go.

There are some fundamental differences between Republicans and Democrats that aren't going away, adn I will always prefer Democrat/liberal policies to conservative ones. That said, there's such a thing as loyal opposition and such a thing as betraying national security secrets for short term political game.

Like I say, they will have to try to get my respect again.
