Halliburton at 52-week high as results beat estimate

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) - Halliburton Co. shares rallied more than 8% Friday after the No. 2 oil-services company swung to profit in the second quarter and exceeded analysts' expectations.

Late Thursday, Halliburton, (HAL) second in the world to Schlumberger, (SLB) said increased customer spending boosted results. Schlumberger said the same thing in reporting results well ahead of analysts' forecasts on Friday. See full story.

Halliburton shares were trading at a 52-week high of $52.75, up 8.3%, or $4.05. It's the highest level for Halliburton shares since September 2000.

4. Says it all: "highest level for Halliburton shares since September 2000."
That would be right before the first selection.

Obviously, war is still good business. :grr:
