Brit Hume is attempting to downplay Iraqi civilian deaths. |
|
He writes that the organization Iraqi Body Count, which estimates that 25,000 Iraqi civilians were killed in the first two years following the US invasion, is comprised of a bunch of unbalanced left-wingers. Therefore, according to Brit, people should "consider the source" when viewing any IBC report. I sent him the following:
Dear Mr. Hume. If everyone were to "consider the source" whereby they obtain their news, FauxNews would cease to exist, the "talent" employed by FNC would actually have to seek gainful employment, and Ruppert Murdoch could go back to counting his money and pulling the wings off flies. Sincerely,

Hume ought to consult the British medical journal, The Lancet, which has documented civilian and military deaths in Iraq.

5. The saddest part is that IBC is a low ball estimate |
|
That counts only reported deaths.

US dead and wounded total close to 16,000...are we supposed to believe that it took the death and/or dismemberment of 16,000 USAsians to kill 25,000 poorly equipped Iraqis?
Please.
I am waaaaaaay more inclined to believe the > 100,000 total...but that's just my take.
