Leave your bags at home, son..Don't take your bags to town.. |

People need to quit lugging all that stuff around . Schools need to go back to having a set of books for school that are left on every desk...and a set to be left at home..No need for a backpack..
Grownups with backpacks? What's THAT about?? Do you really need all that stuff?
We all know that "authorities" will be searching as many bags as they can, BECAUSE they can..
More searches mean missed buses, trains or those vehicles being held and messing up schedules down the line..
Carrying all that crap around will cause additional scrutiny to anyone who carries them..Think people look at you weird now?? Wear a bulky backpack, and people will be suspecting you of being a terra-is..
and your back and shoulders will thank you :)

1. I really don't think I want you |
|
or the government telling me what I need to carry. If you can get along fine but I don't think that speaks for everyone.

2. Schools can also clear out those pesky lockers in the |
|
hallways, or at least minimize their size, if they do what you are suggesting. I htink the biggest problem is affording the books. Many schools can't afford one set, much less two.
Pediatricians are also worried about kids' backs toting all that stuff around.

5. That's the way it was in my school days.. |
|
In class, the books all said DESK on the front cover, and they were numbered. Home room class put the books out, and for the rest of the day, passing students just used that book.. and it also eliminated the excuse.. "I left my book at school/home"..
I know schools are suffering budget cuts, but the LAST think they should skimp on is BOOKS..
Eliminating backpacks would ease a lot of the security worries at school too..
Backpacks used to be for soldiers and campers:eyes:

9. Yes.. running could be considered "evasive action" |
|
and could cost a life, especially if the runner is a dark-skinned young male:(

7. I go to the gym after work. Often, I take work home |
|
I cart shoes around. My lunch. I might want to stay at my boyfriends house, and then I need a change of clothes, toiletries etc.
Also, I'll bring whatever I want whenever I want to. I take public transportation every single day, and I'm not letting Bush's foreign policy and a few extremists to make me live in fear.
I could just as easily get hit by a bus.

8. Of course the next step is: "OK fella, Let's see if that's REALLY ... |

...a pot belly. And you ma'm, are suspiciously voluptuous. Step to the side please, and an inspector will be with you in a moment.

And if the NAZIS want to search mine, they can take me downtown and search it...
There are reasons such civil rights exist, you know...

Look what we have done to air travel and now they ahve turned to subways and busses. If we abandon backpacks then they will swithc to purses or suitcases. Maybe instead of leaving our items behind we should just wstay home.
