Its' a matter of TRUST.... former Cia Officer Jim Marcinkowski
emphasized this in his testimony today before the Democratic Hearing on Outing Undercover officers. He has touched on a basic principle that we Progressives must to use to get our message out ot the People.

The Democratic party and all progressives need to run with this issue...it is IMHO THE FRAME needed to wrap our message in.

TRUST.

Everyone understands this. Will you TRUST an administration and a party that has damaged the credibility of this country? That has harmed our National Security because they violated the TRUST given them?

TRUST

Can you trust the judgment of a President who at best turns a blind eye to the actions of his appointees? How can we accept his judgment when it comes to nominations for such critical positions as Federal Judges and Ambassadors? How can we TRUST him?

How can we TRUST a Republican party that through it's silence endorses these actions?

TRUST is the frame...as Dems and progressives, let's put a good picture in it.

1. GREAT TESTIMONY!
by a retired CIA agent. He raised an extremely important question that Team Bush MUST answer. All of the insiders tell us we need more "human intelligence" (meaning informants) to help fight the terrorists. Marcinkowski mentioned that there ain't gonna be too many people willing to inform, if the agent they're talking to is going to get outed by a completely retarded administration.

2. It shows that * doesn't want to really fight terrorists
They don't want info. They don't want this 'war' to end. They realised two goals in outing Mrs. Wilson....one was for partisan gain, the other was to keep our National Security services from really getting a handle on the 'evildoers'.

Both to insure that they hold on to power.

Have I said how much I hate these people?

3. framing
I think that's a good point. And since all of the coverage over the leak and 2 ys of Rove denials, since we now know he was (in fact) involved, that has had an impact on Bush's credibility overall!!

To me, this has a lot of importance because as we have heard from Bush for about 4 yrs now, that he is tough on terrorism and issues of National Security. Due to this situation, this administration has made us much less safe!! Not only due to increased terrorsim as a result of the Iraq war but now the intelligence community does not trust those in top level positions in the administration!!

The fact that Rove and Libby lied under oath is another irony. Because isn't that what the Republicans said was Clinton's big mistake? It wasn't due to a bj, it was because he lied under oath!

5. Yes, we must learn to FRAME effectively.
TRUST is a great concept - everyone understands it. No need to explain the message...

And the * regime has demonstrated time and again they do not deserve our TRUST.

We need to bring TRUST up whenever we talk about them...whether it is the Rove Scandel or the Robert's nomination. If we can't trust them, we cannot trust their judgement.

TRUST must be restored ... and if the Dems and Progressives show the way people will start listening to us.

7. "Irrepublicanably harmed"
In the first ten minutes of the hearing, Marcinkowski was talking about the "irrepairable" harm caused by outing an undercover agent, but if you have the captions turned on your TV set, it says "Irrepublicanably harmed" instead!

I have to get a screen shot.
