Supervisor plans lawsuit against manufacturer of voting system (Diebold)
Didn't see this anywhere - apologies if already posted

JACKSONVILLE, FL (AP) -- The Duval County elections supervisor says he plans to sue the manufacturer of the county's voting system.

John Stafford says the company -- Diebold Election Systems -- hasn't obtained the state certification necessary so the machines that are accessible to blind voters can be used.

Stafford himself is also being sued. Visually and physically impaired voters filed suit against him in 2001 after he purchased optical scan voting equipment from Diebold. They want touch screen equipment with an audio component that would allow them to vote independently without assistance.

Stafford talked about his frustrations with the voting machines and his planned lawsuit today during his testimony in the non-jury trial.

1. someone better get down there and educate that guy, pronto
That's hilarious... he's suing because he wants the evil touch-screen DREs so he can replace his optical scan machines.

Go Stafford!

2. Drip drip ...
...Diebold's lawyers must be salivating at the thought of all the lawsuits coming. They get paid win or lose. But the Diebold execs must be starting to wonder where all the arrows are coming from.

3. Liebold's strategic blunder may have been to listen to their lawyers.
