I think Mary Matalin may have told
what she knows also..been thinking.
When she got the summons to testify, I would think she discussed it with Carville and he would have told her, "tell them what you know, babe".
They have young children and I seriously doubt they would want to see her in jail because of this. I know she's a rabid republican, but just maybe with advise from Jim, her family came first.

1. I agree.
This is exactly what my husband and I discussed at dinner yesterday. Family has to come first, even with a rabid type like her.

I never have understood that marriage.

3. I haven't either, but I'm sure she
would have discussed her predicament with Jim and I really think that's what he would have told her. He's pretty straight forward most of the time.

2. I read on DU that carville
said on one of the shows that this traitorgate was nothing..move along.

Paraphasing, but that's the gist.

4. Sounds to me he was downplaying it cause he
knew his wife was involved, but that doesn't mean he wasn't worried.

5. That may have been an attempt by Carville to protect his wife, but he's...
...wrong about "traitorgate", very wrong.

21. Carville is a strategist, not a constitutional scholar
There is no way he and his wife cannot be in cahoots with each other, and Carville seems so different than he used to be.

8. What the hell makes anyone here think that Carville is on OUR side?
He works for the Ruling Class, just like his wife. His first loyalty is to POWER -- NEITHER of them are going to endanger their cushy insider lifestyle for mere principles or ethics!

These people are totally engaged in their own little games, it's got NOTHING to do with truth or justice.

16. I wish you'd keep your cynicism to yourself - Yea right
Seriously, i feel the same way as you. We have ourselves a government of the corporation, by the corporation, for the corporation.

No matter how cynical you get, it is impossible to keep up.

18. Sure it's about POWER! But when something might involve
THEIR power, or THEIR own hide, my $$ is that either or both will talk and protect thier own a**es.

Someone asked why is Mary involved. She was on AF1 on the trip to Africa when Ari "supposedly" read the memo labled "Top Secret".

Since she is Cheney's rhight hand, I suspect she heard the reading.

Nobody knows how many people this investigation is going to touch, and posssibly ruin!

I hope it's ALL OF THEM!

11. What is up with Mary Matalin and Andrea Mitchell...Both had to testify...
and I have been SO suspicious of Andrea...I do not trust her and think she is somehow involved in the leaks. Her appearance yesterday in Africa with Rice seemed like a show; a planned diversion, and so ironic that she should screaming charges of lack of freedom of the press, when our free press is probably protecting criminals.

12. I keep thinking back to when this first broke
K-Street was on HBO at the time (remember George Clooney production, part live, part script?) and Mary looked panicked about it, because they did follow a leak (didn't say Plame, just a leak), but I think she knows how serious it is...

on CNN yesterday afternoon. Oh she would have nothing to due with the leak, I know her so well.
