.. I am in Ashburn and it is definitely going on right now. It is pretty much isolated to one spot. I don't know my bearings, but if you are facing the moon, look left about 1/4 of a turn and there it is.

Very wild! I was here typing away and just started seeing flashes lighting up my room.

I'm not hallucinating. And I bet it is heat lightning. Very cool outline of the clouds with each flash.

Think I'm starting to hear thunder now.

Man, it has been nasty hot all week with really no relief in sight. You aren't missing a thing. But I bet it's pretty wicked hot there though. What's a dust devil? Like a mini tornado?

But with a lot of dust and debris in it. It's pretty hot here too. We've been having 115 degree days with elevated humidity. Sadly, there have been a few deaths from the heat, mostly homeless and aged folks. That's unusual for here, despite our hot summers.

My friend from Chicago says they expect 100 degrees there this weekend. Yikes!! I hope everyone will be ok there.
