Worst Case Scenarios we should be preparing for.
color me pessimistic about the next 3 and 1/2 years of bush. there is some real bad road ahead, and we'd better be thinking of worst case scenarios, cause that's the bushco modus operandi.

Economic Collapse.
Ecological Disaster.
Becoming even more despised by the world.
Collapse of Infrastructure.
Another series of terror attacks and retaliations.
Several other Wars and Invasions.
The Draft, and the resistance of the draft.
Martial Law.
Vigilante groups rampaging against foreigners and liberals.
Stacked Supreme Court.
Patriot Act Jack Booted Thugs racially profiling non whites.
Attempted Christian Conservative Takeover.
The Enforced teaching of Creationism, and banning of Evolution.
Interment Camps.
Tranquilization of the populace through pharmaceuticals.
Roe v. Wade Overturned.
Loss of more commonly accepted civil rights.
Skyrocketing Gas Prices.
Massive Unemployment and layoffs.
---------------

actually, many of these things are happening already, just in slow motion. some are being prepared right now, in secret, and some are just wild eyed speculation from another liberal paranoid schizo.

1. Probably all of the above
It's funny. If you would have posted this two, three or even one year ago, people would have made comments about your tin foil hat. I don't see the tin foil reference so much anymore.

I stopped posting things like this because of those remarks and just figured people would get what they deserved for being so stupid.

3. Dammit Mopaul!
You did have to remind me that we still have 3 1/2 more years of this insanity! Somehow each month of a Bush regime seems like a light year, so one has a tendency to forget just how much more we will have to endure. The days, they pass sooooooo slowly, each day bringing some new dread.

BTW, I think your laundry list is pretty accurate. As the old Chinese saying goes, we live in interesting times.

No big surprise. They're so socially regressive they want to go all the way back to the Dark Ages.

13. From your list...
I'd agree with these:
Becoming even more despised by the world.
Another series of terror attacks and retaliations.
Several A couple of other Wars and Invasions.
Vigilante groups rampaging against foreigners and liberals.
Stacked Supreme Court.
Patriot Act Jack Booted Thugs Seemingly ordinary citizens racially profiling non whites. (<== scarier than your version)
Roe v. Wade Overturned.
Loss Erosion of more commonly accepted civil rights.
Skyrocketing Gas Prices.

I think you're being way too alarmist. The president's extremism is pretty effectively curtailed. He'll do more damage thru incompentance than malice for the remainder of his squatting. The foundations of the American economy are a little too resilient and flexible to stand in place too long while matters spin down the toilet. The historic strength of our economy is its flexibility and the still strong middle class foundation laid by the New Deal and Eisenhower redistributive policies.

The same is true of the environment. Corporations will abuse nature and create long term erosion of overall quality and health of the environment, but there are enough institutional policies in place to keep a full scale disaster from happening. I remember how bad things were in 1992 in the environment, but with just a few years on the job, Clinton-Gore had the Superfund working with remarkable efficiency and pretty much killed the environment as a voting issue.

Some of your fears are Turner Diary level paranoias
Martial Law.
Vigilante groups rampaging against foreigners and liberals.
Attempted Christian Conservative Takeover.
The Enforced teaching of Creationism, and banning of Evolution.
Interment Camps.
Tranquilization of the populace through pharmaceuticals.
Sorry, friend, but make mine reality based.

17. from your list
1. Martial law
This seems to be progressing by militarizing the ordinary police, gutting the court system in the name of "terrorism," and incremental revocation of constitutional rights.

2. Vigilantes
Abortion clinic bombers, groups doing hate crimes vs. Muslims, border patrol militias, etc.

3. Christian Conservative Takeover
What do you think the neofascists are?

4. Enforcing Creationism
Marching on, state-by-state. Parallel school system and all, and other kinds of weirdness.

5. Internment Camps
Already in use for WTO protests, c.f. "Guantanamo on the Hudson."

6. Tranquilization via pharmaceuticals
Inaccurately described, more like psychiatric imprisonment and dispensing psychiatric medication as a "social control."
