First of all, you have to understand we are at war... |
|
We are fighting for our very survival. They are intent on killing us all. That is why we have to have the Patriot Act. That is why we have to search backpacks. That is why you need to surrender some of your freedoms. We are under attack by a very persistent enemy.
If you don't admit to the above, how can we reconcile the differences in this nation? You must accept that we are in a war for our very lives and the future of our country. You must believe that the leaders know more than you. You should not question their motives or reasons for war. You are just one little person who does not have the same intelligence as those that are elected to protect us. Keep telling yourself, "we are at war". Keep saying it until you believe it. Otherwise, you will not be able to cope with the present realities.

17. Doesn't treason carry the death penalty? |

Especially in a time of 'war'. I just might have to change my position on this issue if it is.

We must believe our leaders know more than we do? No we don't. We should not question their motives? Yes we should. We are one little person? No, we are many. We don't have the intellegence as those elected? Yes we do. We can cope with the present realities and can work to turn the tide.

Because that seems to be the pressure that is put on anyone that does not agree with these lying fascists now in power.

with those who would destroy the Constitution and our way of government. Funny, but a lot of them don't come from the Middle East, but from the Middle West and Texas......

We are at war with religious fundamentalists, just not from the Middle East. We're at war with our own home grown X-tians. Keith’s Barbeque Central

6. I understand that we're at war, but the reasons WHY are what keep me up... |
|
...at night. The Iraq War will go down in history as one of the most UNNECESSARY conflicts we've ever engaged in. As far as the War on Terror™ is concerned, it's a result of the misguided US middle east policies that has been compounded and exacerbated by our latest action(s) in the region. Until we rectify why they want to attack the US, the War on Terror™ will be perpetual.

who would shred the constitution and invade our privacy for no good reason. It's a matter of urgency that I can see what books you have been checking out at the public library.... what bullshit.
I'll tell you what... I have/had an idea about this pat"riot" act thing. People could eff them up real good (pardon the grammar) simply by doing the following. I say, they want to play??? Let's play.
A: Let's have tens of thousands of people encrypt gibberish emails and send them EVERYWHERE.
B: Let's have tens of thousands of people encrypt nursery rhymes and send them everywhere.
C: Let's have hundreds of thousands of people look up websites that explain how to construct a newcluelear bomb.
D: Let's have millions of people hit questionable websites EVERY DAY.
E: Let every email that goes out have a byline with bomb, terror, armageddon, Al Qaida and anything else that comes to mind in it.
F: Let's keep them carnivores and other puter programs running overtime with so many flags being thrown up that they'll be decades deciphering it all. If they want to play games with the constitution, let's give them games worth playing.

8. Yes, and we must understand that the enemy are our friends |
|
We are in Iraq to help them. That's why we blow up their houses and kill them and round up innocent people and put them in prison and torture them.
Also, we have to understand that THEY are NOT at war with US. When They shoot at US it is because they are bad, bad people. We are allowed to shoot at them because we are the good guys. It's only the bad guys that aren't allowed to shoot at people.
When we shoot at them, it is because we have to help them. When they shoot at us, it is because they are jealous of our freedoms. We have a right to live our lives the way we choose, which they do not understand. We also have a basic right to live! Of course we are going to shoot at them when they shoot at us? Why can't they understand that? Perhaps they are very bad or very stupid. And so we have to shoot at them. Because they are the bad guys who are shooting at us.
To summarise: We are the good guys, so we can be as evil as we like. THEY are the BAD GUYS. They aren't ALLOWED to do evil things. THAT'S WHAT GOOD AND EVIL IS ALL ABOUT.

12. You know, nobody talked like that after some guy |
|
blew up the federal building, or shot some abortion doctors, or sniped a bunch of people in DC. Why are these crazy guys so different? Do they have superpowers? Maybe if we had warning like "Bin Laden determined to attack in the US" we could have done something to stop him, instead of giving up a bunch of freedom that is not going to make us any safer?

14. what war - congress has not declared war |
|
if it is a war then: - time for a draft - time for conservation of resources - time for allocation of resources - time to act like its a war
stop buying the freepers memes lock stock and smoking barrel.
If it's a war it's time for sacrifice BY ALL PEOPLE (not just poor kids who join the army) AND ALL CORPORATIONS. Till then, piss off.

15. he means the neocons/theocons plan to exterminate dissenters/leftists |
|
Not far from the truth, really. They're a bit squeamish so I suspect the plot actually centers around "castration by confinement" using long prison sentences for "political crimes" and "religious crimes," with plenty of porkbarrel spending headed the prison industry's way.

18. There is a mathematical term called "variance" - |
|
a statistical term, which has a precise meaning. Whenever I hear someone say "variance" in a way that does not conform to this meaning, I have to recalibrate to understand what they are saying. I believe "war" should have a precise meaning as well, and I think we have to be careful using the word because if taken literally (and in legal terms) there are consequences. This is a framing issue in a sense. By definition of war, there can be no "new kind of war". This would be Newspeak, meant to spin the truth.
