Why is that when we aren't attacked that means Bush is 'doing his job' but when we are attacked, it means we are expected to rally behind Bush?

1. It's the logic of all dictators. Heads they win, tails they win. |
|
that's how they stay on the job despite all for decades.

8. It's also the logic of most religious thought -- if you live, thank God. |

If you die, it was God's will. That's how priests have stayed in business for millenia.

3. This is standard procedure! |
|
When insurgency attacks increase, they are "desperate" and in their "last throes". When they decrease, we are winning and "freedom is on the march".
When the economy is good, we need tax cuts for the rich to "give the people back their money". When the economy is bad, we need tax cuts for the rich to "stimulate the economy".
We had to attack Saddam due to the "mushroom cloud" threat posed by his WMD. When he didn't have any, we had to attack Saddam to "free the Iraqis" and "spread democracy".
It's the Bush way. Heads he wins, tails we lose.

5. People tend to lean toward stability and unity in times of crisis. This |
|
is the psychological explanation for this kind of behavior (clinging to Bushco in times of crisis). We see it play out time after time. They do not want change at this time.

9. we credit the pigmedia too much |
|
fact is, there's a country here not much different then a decade ago, or 2 decades ago....but pigmedia uses everything to advance the busheviks, and ignores anything that hinders bushpig...notice the thousands of americans killed in the tsunami barely get mentioned, while the '3000' victims of 911 (btw the 3000 include all the passengers on planes etc, plus people on the ground...even then the number never gets to 3k!) are hilighted by constant mentioning.....while there is a bush support base, aka the kakaka, it is not the big player in the game: a bigger player is tim russert and 10 thousand greased and eager mediawhores

14. That's why I never understood the neocons' 'reverse domino theory'. |
|
They seemed to honestly believe that, if the US invaded Iraq and Afghanistant, it would inspire a revolution in Iran.
The first time I heard that ridiculous idea I just couldn't believe it. People cling to authority for protection when they feel threatened- everybody knows that. The Bush Administration certainly knows that. That's what their domestic fearmongering is all about.
Last I heard, all indications in Iran were than the dissident movement has been decimated. People feel threatened by the US, and they're not in the mood for revolution.

10. Why Do Republicans not understand that many Americans are |
|
are unhappy about the way in which we went to war in Iraq, and about the way the war is being conducted.
Why when you question them on either point, do they just say - you hate America.
