Put all pundits and politicians under a civil oath to tell the truth.
Each person who plans on being believed as a pundit or public commentator should take an oath to tell the truth, similar to the witness oath used for trials. Then, when we read or hear an opinion, we can check the Internet to see if the author or pundit is "under oath." A system can be organized to adjudicate complaints for violations of the oath which would contractually include the possibility of steep fines.

The adjudication process would be public record to help ensure that it remained as fair as possible. Violations of the oath would be attached to the swearer's "truth credit report" which would also be public record.

I think left wing pundits would take such an oath in a second. But Rush and Hannity, frankly, would be out of a job.

Left wing politicians could take the oath, forcing their opponents on the right to follow suit.

This might put a damper on this "politics as liars poker" spin cycle we have gotten ourselves into.
