Vermont GOP candidate: Impeach Bush
BTC News - USA

Vermont Republican Dennis Morrisseau wants two things: To fill the House seat being vacated by long-time Congressman Bernie Sanders — Sanders is planning a run for the Senate — and to impeach George W. Bush.

<snip>
“If you’re an old and decent Republican and politics takes a 180 in your country, it sometimes takes a while to tell what you ought to do. It took me a while. I’ve been at this for years.”

Morrisseau says the Bush administration are “flagrantly abusing the powers of the executive branch.”

“I’m a Republican,” he said. “I’m not a Brown Shirt. I’ve never, in any contemplation of U.S. history, seen anything like that asserted at any time. I don’t think we’re going to get much done in the way of standard politics until we clean this neo-con nest out.”
..more..

We need two parties, and we need Republicans like this.

I still wil support his opponent -- but it's nice to see that they are not all so damn brainwashed.

10. A republican with sanity...but GO BERNIE!
Geez, I'm kinda surprised to be so encouraged by a human being who can see corruption for what it is. Um, how could you NOT see it? It's really disturbing and says a lot about the current state of the Republican party.

That said, I'll take Sanders, who I believe is an Independent, over any of the DNC Dems ANY DAY of the week. Bernie's been calling the Bush administration on it's shit for a long time now.

So one Republican wakes up... All I can say is "it's about F*ing time!"

12. He might be a better candidate than some of our Dem pussies..
If this is so (what he says is true,I have a tendency to not believe any Repug) I would be all for him. I don't care what side of the political agenda they are on, as long as we get rid of this horrible assault on this country.

6. He's a Vermonter
Republican or not he wouldn't make it out his front door if he were anything like the present Repuke leadership. I would rather a dem to bring up our numbers and take the house but we do need Republicans who will speak out.

8. Refreshing
Do you think he'll get any support from the Republican party? I had the impression that many Republicans back Bush & Co pretty strongly. It would be nice if Morrisseau had some influence, and inspired his party to come back to "classic" conservatism. At least I would find that refreshing, anyway. I feel like we're living in the Dark Ages right now.

ANYTHING from the mouth of ANY Republican. We've heard nothing but lies, obfuscation, and disingenuousness from the whole party for years now.
