props to london
LONDON, England (CNN) -- Police say the man they shot dead at a London Underground station "was not connected" with this week's attempted bombings on the city's transit system.

If this happened here in the U.S., our authorities would have done everything to cover this up. So, props to London for taking responsiblity for a mistake.

1. Here, here! And props for remaining levelheaded....
The Brits seemed shocked, horrified, by both sets of bombings, yet were able to carry on rationally. And the people are holding the govt accountable, as is the British media...

I've actually read some articles by papers here in the US saying the reason why the Brits are being 'stoic', as they put it, is because "their bombings aren't as bad as what happened to the US". I think it has to do with the fact that the UK has been thru this before with the IRA bombings - they've dealt with domestic terror on a level we've never had. (The Oklahoma bombing was horrific, but it didn't include attacks across the US.)

If we had a bombing like that here in the US, I'd speculate that there would be mass panic... We've never experienced that type of attack, and I fear that we'd become more of a fascist state in response to it... :(
