ALL I KNOW IS THAT FIRST, YOU'VE GOT TO GET MAD...
Edited on Sat Jul-23-05 01:17 PM by TruthIsAll
I don't have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. Who could believe the White House would commit treason and out an undercover operative tracing WMD? Every Republican hack is telling outright lies about Wilson and Plame; they can’t handle the truth and scared of losing their jobs. The facts as stated by the retired CIA operatives don’t matter to them; McCain and Mehlman and Safire et al are peddling bile which will come back to haunt them and the GOP for the rest of their days.

Wars based on lies; Democratic senators anthraxed; elections stolen; voting machines rigged; minorities disenfranchised; voter registrations destroyed; final exit polls massaged to match a corrupted vote count; innocents abducted, tortured and denied access to a lawyer; Cheney's Halliburton and Poppy's Carlyle Group profit from illegal wars and bogus terror alerts - and there's nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there's no end to it.

We know the globe is warming and the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat. And we sit watching our TVs while some local newscaster tells us that some kid in Aruba is missing or that there was another shark attack or that the hurricane was bad or that the Democrats won’t fight the Bush apologist he just nominated for the Supreme Court, as if that's the way it's supposed to be!

We all know things are bad -- worse than bad -- they're crazy.
It's like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don't go out any more. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we're living is getting smaller, and all we say is, "Please, at least leave us alone in our own living rooms. Let me have my cell-phone and my music-player and my SUV, and I won't say anything. Just leave us alone."

Well I'm not going to leave you alone. I want you to get mad!

I don't want you to protest. I don't want you to riot. I don't want you to write to your Congressman, because I wouldn't know what to tell you to write. I don't know what to do about the outsourced jobs or the Patriot Act or the Neocons or the pillaging and killings in Iraq.

All I know is that first, you've got to get mad. You've gotta say, "I'm a human being! My life has value!"

So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go the window, open it, and stick your head out and yell,

"I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!!"

Thanks, Howard.
And thanks, Paddy.

6. And shall we be mad at all of the people who have sat through this...
"and there's nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there's no end to it. "

....over the last couple decades while the Big Lie took over and civil rights were eroded bit by bit?

All Americans are complicit in the "extreme" situation we are in; the frogs sat in the comfy water as the heat rose, and continue to do so.........

Not sure that anger is the answer. Anger seems to be the problem.

Waking up is good tho.

7. Anger------>>>
is at best motivation for redemptive action.

Thanks TIA as always. I agree have to do something.

A massive well coordinated pseudo tax revolt is all I can think of, to get these morons to realize that they work for us not their beloved corporate interests.

Our democracy is at this point a total sham. We can't promote anything that we don't actually embody. The myth of a representative legislature is totally vacuous hyperbole at this point. Arghhhhhh.

But still. . . it's a beautiful day.

8. I AM MAD as hell
and i'm not going to take it anymore! I want to go out in the streets. I want to go into peoples living rooms and shake them until they can see the danger we're in. Sometimes i just want to pack up my family and run away to a more civil place. Is there any hope to save the country i used to love?

9. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.
Greetings, fellow weirdos. Time to get real, get reality-based and get to cracking the shells that encase the brain-pans of too many (still) anesthetized Uh-merikans.

Just be sure to keep checking under your own beds to make sure pods aren't growing there. The temperature is rising and it's not just the calendar. It's about to be the season of the witch for these Republi-Nazis. Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble.

Someone stole my Kerry/Edwards sign yesterday that has been under my mailbox since last September.

Someone fucked with my email system last week so that my messages to two Orange State election reform groups were not getting out.

Someone is about to get their dick knocked in the dirt.

And that's not a threat -- it's a promise.

16. I am now a soldier, here at home....
I've BEEN mad for so long, it's become terminal. It grinds you down, but I have no choice. I'm a mom of two little ones, and I'm a wife, but slowly, surely, I've become a soldier first and foremost. A soldier for the truth, a soldier on sentinel watch. I am a human loudspeaker, speaking truth to everyone I can, every single day. I know they want my sons' blood for their wars and they are not going to have them. I will stand and fight with every breath left in me for what I know is good and right and true.

Knowledge is power and with all the knowledge here, I make a point of coming here daily to arm myself for battle. Yes, it makes me mad!!! But the time is upon us and we must be ready.
