Encouraged by missing bumper stickers....
A big * supporter who lives in my building sported a whole back window of * bumper stickers on his SUV. Wore a * t-shirt on election day, 2004. In fact, the newest bumper sticker declaring support for the War Criminal occupying the Oval Office made me so mad, I ALMOST printed an application for the U.S. Army to tape to the back of offending SUV.

I decided against tweaking this person's nose.

But TODAY, I find that ALL * bumperstickers have been removed from the vehicle! I am delighted; for where I live, that means the tide is turning! The perjury over treason has traction - as well it should - and perhaps is even turning the heads of diehard supporters?

One can only hope, but I am definitely encouraged by what I just saw.

21. You're kidding... gads, some people are effing NUTS
I can (barely) see people being for him the first time around--
(they didn't know any better) but there's no excuse for putting
NEW stickers on their cars. Now that bushco's mask if OFF, how
can they be supportive??

That's tantamount to saying "I support torture," "I support the
huge deficit," "I support lying," "I support crooks," "I support
trashing the environment," etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

Those people are monumentally stupid, brainwashed, or downright
evil.

:spank:

4. Sorry to get your hopes up but he could be selling, trading in the car or
going job hunting and doesn't want to offend a potential new Dem boss. Also, maybe a new girl/boyfriend, starting a new school. I would love to enbrace your theory but I don't think there was a change of heart just some kind of change in life style. However we all can dream.

with that? Is it a silent statement of support for bushco??
I don't know what else it would be.

And I live in a liberal area!!

just going on with "business as usual." Not a great analogy
but it's tantamount to a group of people sitting outside their
house and smoke is starting to pour out of the windows and the
people are saying, "Nah-- it's not on fire. That's not smoke. We
don't need to call the fire department."

So many are in major, major denial.

I see the same thing. Most disheartening is this attitude in my Dem friends who were fired up last summer but totally apathetic & uninvolved this summer.

27. nope !!!
Edited on Sat Jul-23-05 07:05 PM by yorkiemommie1
it's like they're making a point. i'd never miss MLK day, not only because I respect the man himself ( and the fact that if the original convenants in this subdivision were still in force, i and the other ethnicities, - of asian ancestry for the most part - could not live here. ), but because they don't think it's 'their' holiday.

twenty years i've lived here and except for that Kerry guy down the street who just started w/ the flag, i've been the only one to fly it on MLK day. i've written lttes about it and they've never been published either.

editing to add that my MIL started the flag flying tradition in the family - she kind of reminded me every holiday -. she voted Dem. until the day she entered a nursing home and wherever she is in the afterlife now, i know she is having a fit!!!

26. I don't think so ...
My neighbors always have their flag hung outside, and they are not Bush supporters trust me. Me and my mom still have a little paper flag taped to our front door, and we are far away from being Bush supporters, both us curse Bush's name.

22. This is why my co-worker ripped off his "W"
it happened right after he filled up his SUV. He said he had a mental image of Dubya hand in hand with the Saudi prince. For some people, the environment, women's rights, healthcare, education, the lies about Iraq and the subsequent invasion....it doesn't matter. But money out of their wallet? Now that matters. And that little tax rebate is long forgotten now. (though Bush reeled in quite a few with that one). Poor suckers. They should have realized that the little tax rebate was no match for all the Bushy surcharges.

28. Overlays for W04 Stickers
My daughter and I run a promotional product business -- you know, one of those "we can print anything on anything" print shops.

We've been toying with the idea of making self-adhesive transparent stickers exactly sized to fit over those annoying oval "W04" window and bumper stickers. We're scheming about printing some appropriate message on our transparent stickers, to the effect of "I voted for (W04) and all I got were lies and war" or "I voted for (W04) and I really f*cked up" wrapping around the "W04" oval.

Any other short, but barbed, message come to mind?

As I said, we're just toying with the idea... but imagine the remaining * sheeple sporting that "lies and war" text on their sticker... At the very least, the sticker would be removed quickly.

Sometimes I do amuse myself, really I do.
