Poll question: Clark Fans: Who would be Wes' best VP? |
|
Let's say Clark wins the nomination. Who would YOU pick to be his VP, keeping in mind the need for balance geographically and/or ideologically?

2. What about Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL)? |
|
Voted against the war (and was re-elected in a LANDSLIDE after he did), social liberal, fiscal moderate, etc.?

I could see that. Is the governor of Illinois a Dem or a Rethug?

6. He's a 36 year-old Dem! |
|
Gov. Rod Blagoevic, who engineered a DEMOCRAT 'trifecta' last November: we now control all three branches of State government for the 1st time in more than a generation, and hold all constitutional offices except one. :)

7. I love Blago and Durbin. |
|
I wonder if Rod will run for President in 2008 or 2012. He definitely has a lot of political talent.

His support is both wide AND deep! He took it to the Illinois Rethugnican party last November and we kicked their asses! :)

4. Would Hillary be a bad choice? |
|
Perhaps that is why Limbaugh is starting the conspiracy rumors, to rule Hillary out. :tinfoilhat:

Paul Sarbanes.
Clark would need a smart and seasoned insider, preferably low profile, who could wheel and deal behind the scenes...especially if they're dealing with a republican congress.

is my senator. Unfortunatly, we do not hear a word from him until an election year. Not bad on the issues, but he really needs to do more for Maryland and not ignore us.
But he has the personality of a VP---kind of like an invisible man who gets little attention.

Dean would make an excellent VP...if it comes to that...Don't get me wrong...I like Dean and I just might vote for him...I'm kind of leaning towards Clark though...
He was a military man...they have different values then someone who was AWOL...

Balance the ticket East/West, career female politician to career male military.
It won't happen, though, because California is seen as being a lock for any Dem, and there will be no need to select a 'favorite daughter' to carry the state.

12. I suspect there will be pressure to pick the runner-up. |
|
That person would most likely be Gephardt or Dean. Either one would serve some purposes for Clark.

13. Lots of good choices there |
|
I voted for Edwards, because I just like him, but if Clark wins and if he and Dean have a meeting of the minds and Dean accepts that would probably be the most powerful ticket. Cleland sounds excellent, too as so most of the others.

16. I read "Dark and Clean" on a message board the other day |
|
it made me giggle.
Personally I wish we could elect all ten Democrats president. I think it could be justified if we declare the Bush administration a national emergency -- a "Federal Disaster Area" -- these things are true, after all.

18. Kerry for VP; but a place for the other 8 |
|
Kerry for VP (the military experience plus domestic experience), and while I am at it....
Edwards for AG Dean for HHS Gephart for Secretary of Labor
If Graham doesn't run for senate - Energy Secretary
Keep Lieberman as senator
Moseley Braun - commerce secretary
Find a role for Sharpton - the guy is smooth
