Clark's volunteer work
I think it's important for retired people to stay active. The two retired people I know best are my parents, and it's a key to keeping them happy. My mother does volunteer translating work at a medical clinic, answers phones or something at the local college's art gallery, and is active in her church. My father plays chess in the park and is active in his church.

Wesley Clark chose an interesting activity when he retired, he chose to do volunteer work at a little hometown mom-and-pop company:

A senior executive at Acxiom said Clark began knocking on doors for the company, without pay, out of patriotic impulses shortly after the Sept. 11 attacks. Jerry Jones, Acxiom's general counsel and business development leader, said the company also wanted to do its part in the war on terrorism.

3. there's a thread in LBN
and I'm sure we haven't heard the last of this story. I'm counting on at least one candidate to confront Clark on this at some point.

I will chastise her on her lack of "patriotic impulses." She really should be canvassing door to door for a corporation.

In Clark's defense, he did not say he was doing it out of "patriotic impulses," but Acxiom's general counsel said Clark was. Hopefully Clark will start clarifying or repudiating some of his past choices.

6. everyone can help Acxiom in different ways
your mom probably doesn't have the "pull" that Clark has, but maybe she has info on some of the 2% of the population that Acxiom does not have in their files. She could start making patriotic dossiers on her neighbors.

5. Wouldn't you think the public
would be extremely skeptical of "Slimy Shrub" who did it in the first place? Ya know - the little yellow belly who occupies our house.

10. Clark's response is "no comment"
unless he has commented since yesterday, Clark doesn't think the dem primary voters have a right to know more about this.

I agree with John Edwards when he said today that there may be a good answer to this, but that Clark should provide that answer.
