Ben Stein's lunacy (video)
Ben Stein's Lunacy

Former Nixon speechwriter Stein has a message for the President. Karl Rove did nothing wrong. Ben please spare us the prostate exam analogy. Listening to your diatribe is cause enough for anyone with half a brain to rush into therapy.

In Ben's world Nixon is a hero, a misunderstood soul who caved to the pressure from his enemies. After all...it was the evil Democrats that forced the bugging of Watergate and the following cover it up. Those dastardly Democrats coerced you into taping all those conversations too.

I didn't see it this morning, but I heard about it here in GD.

Look at the odds -- could I have been the "only" one who didn't see it?

9. I can't believe that asshole
and the assholery that he spouts.

Why is he a celebrity now?

He needs to stick with "Buehler......Buehler.........Buehler"

That made more sense than this bullshit about Nixon is a hero, and all the Dems are about is hatred.

10. He's been talking that shit for years
Nixon speechwriter/apologist. I expected nothing else. Other than his irritating voice he's easy to tune out.

12. Clear Eyes Overlook Injustice
Wonderful advice, Mr. Stein. Rather than making the mistake of throwing Rove to us ravenous democrats who, like unprincipled beasts, only attack at the sight of blood, Bush should throw his full support behind Rove. I totally agree.

Rove knowingly endangered the lives of innumerable covert operatives, and helped manipulate information in order to drum up support for a misguided war - a war in which countless thousands of innocents have lost their lives.

Yes, "W", I concur with Ben Stein: latch on to Rove; give him your full support, which he has "earned in spades". When the hammer of justice falls; when public opinion has irreversably turned against Rove and the greedy political pragmatism he stands for, all good republicans must do their duty and make a spectacle - a veritable department-store tantrum - out of their demands that Rove be absolved of all guilt.

Imagine how low the poll numbers would sink, and to what heights outrage would ascend. It's so comforting to see Ben working as a strategist for our side.

13. Bush obviously knows all that
Bush, like Ben Stein, cares only about his own survival.

Notice how Stein doesn't mention the nation's interests at all?
