I think Mr. Menezes would've appreciated a tasing compared to what he got

1. "It coulda been worse"
should not be used to excuse brutality. So every time an under-trained or under-brained cop tasers someone without cause he can say "Hey, you're lucky I didn't shoot you in the head"?

2. The report is that they wrestled him to the ground and then shot him.
They had him. Why did they have to shoot him? :-(

3. 5 times............
as well. :wtf: Something doesn't add up here. I could understand this from a cop in LA, but in London?

Maybe there's a lot of repressed homicidal feelings in England's police force? They weren't even allowed to carry guns until recently, correct?

Like I said, I'd expect something like this in America where the gun is god, but in England it's just so out of character.

by somebody on Du the guy might have known something and they made sure he didn't get a chance to tell. The longer I think about it the more sense that makes to me. Five shots, no less. Seems - well - superfluous, doesn't it?

4. In fact they even let him ride the bus, before they shot him
That's what I don't understand....I mean if this guy was carrying a bomb, why did they let him ride the bus in the first place? why wait until he got off the bus? It doesn't make sense.

6. someone suggested that the reason was
to desensitize the people to this kind of activity. No one stopped the "cops", just stood around and watched. It makes me wonder if we will start seeing bodies in the streets that have been dumped by the death squads here soon.
