Breaking- White House Does Not Respond to Questions to whether Card...
passed that info to Karl Rove or anyone else...
==================================================

<snip>
WASHINGTON - Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said Sunday that he notified White House chief of staff Andy Card after the Justice Department opened an investigation into who revealed a covert CIA officer's identity, but waited 12 hours to tell anyone else in the executive mansion.

The White House did not immediately respond to questions Sunday about whether Card passed that information to top Bush aide Karl Rove or anyone else, giving them advance notice to prepare for the investigation.

<snip>
Gonzales said Justice Department lawyers notified him of the investigation around 8 p.m., and he got permission from them to wait until the following morning to direct the staff to preserve any materials related to the case.

"We were advised, `Go ahead and notify the staff early in the morning, that would be OK,'" Gonzales said on CBS' "Face the Nation." "And again, most of the staff had gone home. No one knew about the investigation."

Gonzales said he immediately notified Card, then told President Bush the next morning before notifying the White House staff.

1. Damn -- I wish Bush had nominated Gonzales to the Court
It would have been a disaster that made the Bolton fiasco look tame by comparison.

2. No kidding
Of course, that's exactly why they didn't nominate him.

3. Andy Card's
cornbread ain't baked in the middle, if you ask me. That aside, why would Gonzales tell Card and then wait to tell bu$h* the next day AND why wouldn't Card immediately go tell bu$h* himself?

The lies stories just do not make sense (IMHO).

4. That's what Shieffer said...
That was enough time to shred or do anything with the pertinent documents or emails.. Maybe Card did tell Bush immediately? Now, you're getting the picture... :)

17. Time enough to crank up Fawn Hall's old high speed shredder ...
Clean those hard drives and burn the tapes. If most WH staff were gone for the day that would take care of the problem with witnesses.

5. Because Bush* was already asleep at 8:30 PM
Bush* was already in jammies, tucked in, and asleep without a care in his mind. No reason to disturb the idiot on something as important as this.

11. Because then Card could start the shredding...
and Bush could deny knowing anything about it.

13. another question
Why would Gonzales tell anyone that he told Card? Why on national TV and why now? Seems someone is trying to bail from the sinking ship.

15. Gonzales didn't seem concerned about..
CYA. I believe that this is going to spread and their may be quite a few indictments. "History repeats itself. First as a tragedy. Then as a farce." Karl Marx Looks like the farce is on it's way. Shrub's little skit where he was looking for WMDs under his desk etc. isn't going to be so amusing when the Amerikan public finally is faced with the reality of the farce.
