Poll question: Is Iraq part of the war on terror? |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-25-05 01:00 AM by BullGooseLoony
It's difficult here for me to decide whether I should put "war on terror" in quotes, or capitalize it, or leave it in lowercase.
I think that this is another issue that we need to get worked out. Do we want to lump Iraq IN with the war on terror, or "war on terror," or "War on Terror," or do we want to separate the two in order to distinguish the fact that Bush actually strayed from defending our country by invading Iraq?

Long answer: HELL NO. There were no terror groups based in Iraq before 2003. It's a sideshow, a distraction from the War against Terror Using Groups.

2. I said we shouldn't... |
|
because we now have tens of thousands of potential terrorists in Iraq... nevermind if we created them or not. Let's just call America's war "The war of stupidity."

4. Separate the two, but with a qualifier |
|
Iraq posed no legitimate terrorist threat before Bush** invaded. Now it does, but that's Bush**'s fault.

5. First, do away with the term "War on Terror" |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-25-05 06:12 AM by laura888
This is a vague term with no meaning.
Instead, say "we will find the criminals who attacked the United States."
Making it a war militarizes it, when, in fact, it should be purely a police action. Do we send Army tanks to go after the mafia? Do we send Blackhawk helicopters to raid Timothy McVeigh's home town?
Calling it a war allows invasion, colonization, racism, persecution, and lock up of innocent people.

7. Iraq is BushCo/neoCON's WAR OF TERROR! |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-25-05 04:01 PM by Just Me
Get it? Got it?
Iraq was merely a step towards corporacultist imperial control over the world.
The corporacultists feel perfectly justified in waging terror in the form of poverty, torture and death against human beings in order to impose their will upon them.

8. Poll should be split into 2 Timelines because.... |
|
Before the war Iraq had nothing to do with the war on terror
but now of course it does with all the jihad dudes coming there from all over the world to fight us. Al Queda is now focusing most of its attention in Iraq to kill us and the Shites who they also despise.
