Does anyone watch Sunday Morning on CBS? I used to love that |
|
show, but lately they seem to be having a lot of RW bullshit from the likes of Ben Stein. Yesterday, he was explaining how Rove didn't do anything wrong, Plame was a "desk jockey" and not an operative, and Bush shouldn't follow the mistakes Nixon made -- everything would have turned out OK if he'd just stood behind his aides. Luckily for me, the TV has an off button.

1. I haven't watched it since Charles Kuralt left |
|
I loved his voice and his storytelling ability, plus his liberal humanity. A superb writer.
I don't think Charles Osgood is as good, sorry. If he's still the host, even.

It's all just taking points and spins as far as I'm concerned. They twist the truth and use sound bites to their fullest advantage.

5. The thing about defenses of the Plame outing is how dumb they are |
|
Damn few people can't see thru them as backtracking rationalizations of criminal activity. Let them talk and spin--it's in the First Amendment that we have to let them do that. The truth is pretty easy to see in this case and it's useful to allow our opponents to tarnish themselves with lies.

6. He is the counter-balance to the female who often has a general |

'rant', but it is sometimes 'liberal' and sometimes has a tinge of 'liberal' in it.
Maybe it is just me, but I think she is on more often. Maybe I think that because I take the garbage out when Stein comes on or find something to do in another room when Stein comes on. I have never, ever liked him (then I found out how right wing he is).
By the way, though I can't remember her name, the female is terrific - very clever, very bright, very witty, and v e r y pleasant to look at and listen to.
