That way, after the Coming Global Superstorm, they'll be under a sheet of ice forty feet thick. :tinfoilhat:

23. The Libertarians have their sites on NH
Apparently we're supposed to see an influx of 20,000 plus Libertarians over the next few years. Could be interesting. I think inviting the Greens to ME sounds like a dandy idea - or maybe VT. As long as the exodus is to some place like Utah, and they form their own country.

Hell no!

they want exodus they can go charter or buy an island some where but I don't want them in NH or ME! I come and visit every year at least twice.

I heard they weren't welcome in NH, there was a town hall meeting that basically told them to pack up and ship out. I think it was Laconia they were eye balling?

Can you confirm that?

I live here. It's bad enough as it is but we don't have the resources to get out.

Please don't wish these assholes on us unless they're going to keep going east, as far east as they can go. And hope they don't spoil the shrimp season.

69. Why be so generous?
American and Canada need a warm place for people to go in the winter and besides Florida is a borderline blue state. It might even be a blue state if we could restore fair elections. I say give then the west half of Texas and that's all. Even that's too good for them. Lets load it up with all our nuclear waste before they move in.

This plan has been around for a while--& I hasn't been much of a success, apparently.

South Carolina already tried it once--to no avail. And I'm sure there are plenty of non-insane people in the state who won't go along.

16. I support and endorse this movement
And I encourage all white fundamentalist Christians to leave their states--especially if they are in swing states--and move to South Carolina. Every one of their ilk who leaves their respective state for South Carolina is one less vote that they can cast in light blue or light red states. And these people tend to pump out a lot of kids too.

They can have South Carolina and do whatever the hell they want to that state for all I care. We'll take good care of the other 49 states.

Onward Christian soldiers!!

Edited on Mon Jul-25-05 06:04 PM by ocelot
We're ticked off at the way you've treated California, and we've decided we're leaving.

We intend to form our own country, and we're taking the other Blue States with us. In case you aren't aware, that includes Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and all the Northeast. We believe this split will be beneficial to the nation, and especially to the people of the new country of New California.

To sum up briefly: You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave states. We get stem cell research and the best beaches. We get Elliot Spitzer. You get Ken Lay. We get the Statue of Liberty. You get OpryLand. We get Intel and Microsoft. You get WorldCom. We get Harvard. You get Ole' Miss. We get 85 percent of America's venture capital and entrepreneurs. You get Alabama. We get two-thirds of the tax revenue. You get to make the red states pay their fair share. Since our aggregate divorce rate is 22 percent lower than the Christian Coalition's, we get a bunch of happy families. You get a bunch of single moms. Please be aware that Nuevo California will be pro-choice and anti-war, and we're going to want all our citizens back from Iraq at once. If you need people to fight, ask your evangelicals. They have kids they're apparently willing to send to their deaths for no purpose, and they don't care if you don't show pictures of their children's caskets coming home. We do wish you success in Iraq, and hope that the WMDs turn up, but we're not willing to spend our resources in Bush's Quagmire.

With the Blue States in hand, we will have firm control of 80 percent of the country's fresh water, more than 90 percent of the pineapple and lettuce, 92 percent of the nation's fresh fruit, 95 percent of America's quality wines (you can serve French wines at state dinners) 90 percent of all cheese, 90 percent of the high tech industry, most of the U.S. low-sulfur coal, all living redwoods, sequoias and condors, all the Ivy and Seven Sister schools, plus Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Cal Tech and MIT. With the Red States, on the other hand, you will have to cope with 88 percent of all obese Americans (and their projected health care costs), 92 percent of all U.S.mosquitoes, nearly 100 percent of the tornadoes, 90 percent of the hurricanes, 99 percent of all Southern Baptists, virtually 100 percent of all televangelists, Rush Limbaugh, Bob Jones University, Clemson and the University of Georgia. We get Hollywood and Yosemite, thank you. Additionally, 38 percent of those in the Red states believe Jonah was actually swallowed by a whale, 62 percent believe life is sacred unless we're discussing the death penalty or gun laws, 44 percent say that evolution is only a theory, 53 percent that Saddam was involved in 9/11 and 61 percent of you crazy bastards believe you are people with higher morals than we lefties. By the way, we're taking the good pot, too. You can have that dirt weed they grow in Mexico.

Sincerely,

Author Unknown in New California.

22. Take up a collection?
Perhaps we could take up a collection to help all these "fine, upstanding Americans" move to another state (say, oh, I dunno... Texas or Arizona?) and then happily let the entire state secede?

Not only would (if they actually were to be successful) doing something like this *weaken* their political clout (never a bad thing, imho), but then, once they're all in there, we can just build a wall around the "country" of FundieChristiania and let them develop their own foreign policies, build an army and navy, etc.

As an added bonus, we could probably just put large signs around the wall saying, "Terrorists attack *there*... Those are the real aggressors."

1/2 :-)

1) Why South Carolina?

Because they start out at an advantage in that state. Many folks there are fundamentalist wackos. The state's history as the cradle of the Confederacy and treason would seem to make it a fitting place.

2) I guess they don't love America anymore? :eyes: Remember: these are the "love it or leave it" crowd. Remember after the election many people were saying they were leaving and a lot of rightwingers were cheering and saying things like "don't let the door hit you" etc.

I don't care if they love America or not. There is no law that obligates anyone to love this country. But I do endorse this movement if it will move fundamentalistwackos--and their 6 or 7 kids per household--out of swing states and into already deep red states. Likewise I am also on record as calling for Democrats to leave hopeless states like Texas and move to swing states for the same reason.

I find all of these "don't let the door smack your ass on the way out" posts a bit unbelievable. Isn't anyone else really angry about this?

I don't care what group it is...

I don't care which piece of land they plan to control...

THESE ARE THE UNITED STATES. We should be outraged that any one group -- let alone one that has hijacked a religion of peace -- is not only considering driving a wedge in the union but actually advocating such on the evening news.

67. Let's split it in three parts.....
