YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! White House WARNS Dems on Roberts Papers
Edited on Mon Jul-25-05 06:07 PM by Bluebear
WASHINGTON - The White House on Monday warned Democrats not to make extensive requests for Supreme Court nominee John Roberts' legal writings in previous Republican administrations, saying many such documents are "out of bounds."

:wtf:

Like, what the hell is Bush gonna do about it anyway? "Oh you better not go there cuz that's all in bad taste." Dems weren't even seriously contesting this and all of a sudden Bush decides to have a fit about it anyway? Shit, what's he gonna do if some republicans decide to do the same thing? What then? The guy is an idiot.

5. Sorry, But the WH made this NECESSARY
by nominating someone who had so little experience on the bench. With very few rulings to examine, we have to look at the rest of his work history.

6. So just what are they trying to hide?
The big question, for me, is whether this is smoke screen or if there's something in there that they *really* don't want exposed.

Sadly, I wouldn't put it past the current administration to be doing this is a red herring to force Dems to fight hard for documents only to find out, when they're released, that there's nothing of interest in there.

20. I've read elsewhere on DU
that Liberman grew the beard after his mother passed away. Apparenlty it's part of a Jewish tradition. That's all I know.

A man's mourning is what should be out of bounds

30. Yep, there was a thread last week that made fun of how he looks
A couple of Jewish folk on the thread confirmed why he had grown the beard. And even though he's not one of my favorite people, once the reason was revealed, and people kept going with the quips, I found it cold-hearted.

Rather like berating Clinton for not being at a vote because Bill was in surgery, or suggesting that O'Connor didn't need to step down for her husband, since he's got Alheimers and doesn't know her anyway. These are people as well as politicians. Sometimes that is forgotten.

It's those who find out what's going on and continue snarking who make my teeth itch. I'd even feel bad for Bush if his mama died, and both make me puke.

19. "Out of bounds"...WTF?
These rat bastards have an agenda and PATRIOTISM isn't on it!
How many fucking documents are these madmen going to dictate as "out of bounds?" I remember subpoenas totaling well over 1000 during the Clinton "scandal". I would take a President hankering for a blow-job any day compared to this nightmare!

Peace.

BTW- What's up with the leprechaun?

21. difi...
Feinstein emerged impressed with Roberts' ability to rule without "any extraneous points of bias."
"There is not a lot of controversy surrounding him. There just isn't," Feinstein said.
:eyes: she so never getting my vote ever again...

and this is too rich:
"It's not like being a member of the Communist Party," said Sen. John Cornyn (news, bio, voting record), R-Texas, who also met with Roberts.

:eyes: no, cornyn...it's "like: being a member of the Federalist Society and LYING about it.

25. Okay, then give us a list of every single document he has authored
or participated in, with a brief summary of the contents therein, and we'll look at that list and then submit a list to you, Little Boots, of the documents we want to see.

Does this administration ever do anything without playing mind games in the process?
