"Senate committee would also review the probe of special prosecutor..Fitz"
The last sentence of this Boston Globe article:

"Little said the Senate committee would also review the probe of special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, who has been investigating the Plame case for nearly two years."

Oh, why doesn't that fill me with confidence. Now they will go after Fitzgerald.

Congress plans to scrutinize Plame-related issues
By David Morgan | July 25, 2005

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Congress will conduct a series of hearings on national security and espionage issues raised by the CIA-leak controversy surrounding senior Bush adviser Karl Rove, officials said on Monday.

-snip-

Meanwhile, Hoekstra's counterpart in the Senate, Republican Sen. Pat Roberts of Kansas, intends to preside over hearings on the intelligence community's use of covert protections for CIA agents and others involved in secret activities.

The chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence could hold hearings on the use of espionage cover soon after the U.S. Congress returns from its August recess, said Roberts spokeswoman Sarah Little.

Little said the Senate committee would also review the probe of special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, who has been investigating the Plame case for nearly two years."

1. Isn't it about time for the CIA to do some covert ops on these Repubs?
I don't think you would have to "frame" them, just expose their predelictions. There are so many closeted gays, wife abusers, child rapers and perverts amongst the right wing that it wouldn't take too much to keep the front pages filled for weeks.

3. Senate committee to review Fitzgerald investigation?
They will either decide not to go too public about findings or redact the sh*t out of findings like they did with the 9-11 investigations.

Bushco? I can't imagine ever having such a corrupt administration, I got more resoect for the mob!

4. there's something odd going on there
Larry Flynt supposedly put up a million-dollar bounty on dirt on the Shrub, but according to other sources, run-of-the-mill PI's could dig up extremely damning incidents from his past. My only guess is standard of evidence.
