BRAD BLOG: GOP Operatives Recieve Their New Rove Marching Orders!
GOP Operatives Recieve Their New Rove Marching Orders!
Lockstep Attack on CIA Analyst Larry Johnson!(Why Hold Anybody Accountable When There Are Still Plenty of Folks Left to Smear?)

Looks like the GOP bootlickers in the fake "conservative" "media" received their latest marching orders today sometime around 11am ET this morning.

With their backs against the wall vis a vis TreasonGate, they've been given some fresh smear ammo, apparently, to try and help the White House minimize and obfuscate their unprecedented outting of a covert CIA operative.

First out of the closet to attack, naturally, was phony reporter Jeff Gannon followed by PNAC and Rupert Murdoch just 31 minutes later...

2. Maybe, maybe not
looks like they're scraping the bottom of the barrel now for their smear campaigns. And there are so many more to smear ~

Does this mean that the anti-gay right is adopting fake reporter, male prostitute, Jeff Gannon? That, I suppose would be progress!

They picked the wrong guy to smear when they tried it with Joe Wilson. I have a feeling that smearing as a tactic might not be too effective anymore. It was only effective when the public wasn't aware of what they do.

Even Republicans I know are disgusted by all of this and pretty sick and tired of these tactics. This is all getting so old, Karl Rove is a liability, his tactics have been fully exposed and widely condemned by decent Americans.

They better pay attention to those plunging polls. Those are Republicans they are losing, and they will not get them back by doing what got them in trouble in the first place.

The more desperate they get, the deeper the hole they dig ~ what they don't get is that their lies got tens of thousands of people killed, and no amount of smear can change that or the rising anger of those who are just beginning to realize that it was all a lie. I know some of those Repubs who voted for Bush because they believed the lies. They are really angry ~

3. I think that's what we're seeing now
Them doing this just shows how desperate they are to show they are innocent when in fact it's SO obvious now they are guilty. I think this is showing it goes up to Bush even because why would they be doing all this to protect Karl Rove? But then again Rove is "Bush's Brain." I don't think this is doing them any good either.

12. Wouldn't it be fun to include Gannon's paragraph
in an email to Schmidt and ask if they are 'friends'?

7. "But Johnson...did offer his opinions in July 10, 2001 article " wouldn't
that be around the time the Bush Policy of ignoring bin Laden and poopooing anyone who spoke up was becoming Intelligence Policy?

Cause Bush & Rummy & Co had been in power for 7 months by then. That would be around the time the analysts were doing what they were told to do and focus on Iraq and neocon goals instead of the plan Al Qaeda that the Clinton people had come up with.

Oh - yes - and Bush used that plan to attack Afghanistan a few months later. But ignore it for the first 7 months.

8. Very good point
Thanks for the reminder that it was on Bush's watch that 9/11 happened. He's been getting a pass on that for way too long.

You reminded me that the Bush administration (was it Condi?) that blew off the concerns of people like Richard Clarke about the threat of terrorism, which they seemed to think was Clinton making a 'mountain out of a molehill' as Orin Hatch once said, (I believe in Dec. 2000 after he led the Senate in defeating a Clinton bill to freeze Al Queda funds).

Maybe it's time to go back to that period, and take a really close look at the Republican attitude towards terrorism! I have a feeling the CIA remembers.

I agree with the poster who said that the target of their latest smear campaign might be a 'bring it on' kind of guy! Look what happened when they tried it on Joe Wilson!! Some people never learn!

25. Orin Hatch - now here's a guy that needs to be in the spotlight
To what extent is he the man behind the throne.
Picture below is from an article with this quote.
"Sheriff Mike Brown was honored to accept the invitation to attend the Presidential Signing of the National Amber Alert Bill, The Protect Act of 2003, signed by President Bush in the Rose Garden of the White House on Wednesday, April 30th, 2003.

The Sheriff’s involvement with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, through his Internet Crimes Unit, Operation Blue Ridge Thunder, has garnered much interest from the Whitehouse as the President continues his commitment to protecting children from the evils of child pornography and child exploitation."

What about Iraqi Children Orin? Shouldn't they be protected?

21. Yep ... that was the time they were busy ignoring the
warnings of Richard Clark. Let them try to smear Johnson on that one. and oh yeah ... they Roved Clark too for having the audacity to tell the truth.

10. It's the only tactic they know.
Rove's playbook only has two plays:smear and distort. Ann Richards is a lesbian, John Kerry is a coward, John McCain is insane. Sadly it works pretty well in politics. Now maybe I watch too many movies, but I can't see how it works with the CIA. Spooks don't have to play by the rules of politics. They play a whole different game, with a classified budget no less.

did you see where CBS axed his spot? Gawd, this bunch is so predictable and so dangerous to our security. Excuse me, we use to have pretty good security - until the Bush Bots came out and blew it.
