Poll question: Most important: Your party in power OR a government with integrity? |
|
I'll define integrity as: most people in seats of power act with the interests of the country in mind, not their own personal desires or interests.
Deep in your heart, if you had to choose, would you rather have:

1. Government with integrity is a fantasy |
|
At least 100% integrity. Since there's always going to be political games, I'd sooner they play the games with some eye towards what benefits the people.

12. Corruption always happens |
|
This isn't necessarily a big problem, as long as corruption and falsehoods can be discovered. What's more important IMO is transparency - the more the better. This is of course where * administration fails utterly.

Mine works to the will of the people in tandem with the US Constitution. Not the highest corporate dollar having top precedence.

To suggest a Republican-led government could somehow be a government with integrity is absurdity. Therefore, ipso facto, the only way to get a government with integrity is to have a government run by my party.

6. I voted for the integrity |

because the default for governmental integrity is the Democratic party. Democrats, for the most part, just screw up in their personal lives, not their professional lives.
They'll cheat on their wives, not on the books.

7. Government with integrity |
|
That was my vote.
However, by way of clarification, I do believe that at least by comparison at the present time, the Democratic Party has more integrity--beyond question.
Over time, however, I believe that, as power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely, that one of the checks against corruption is, in fact the sharing of power--forced if necessary.
This is also, almost certainly, one of the reasons that the Republican corruption is so God-awful at present.

10. I'm with you! I like a balance--it keeps things honest. |
|
But, my true belief is that liberals tend to be more open and honest.

We assume that President Bush doesn't believe one word in three that tumbles from his lips, but would he be any less dangerous if he did? Or would he be more dangerous? Bryant Check it out --> http://politicalcomment.blogspot.com

on a RW site and the majority said they'd prefer to have their party in power regardless. No surprise there.
