I expose info to people all the time who do not have a computer and some that do but can't afford internet.
I live in Fort Smith Arkansas and have no idea why you are talking so negative.
Stating facts here not hillbilly bullshit..

Use of computers at home for school work was strongly associated with income. About 64 percent of students from families with an income of $75,000 or more used a computer at home for school work compared to 28 percent of students from families with incomes of $20,000 to $24,999.

27 million children in this country are growing up in low-income families.

More than 83% of them have at least one working parent whose income is not sufficient.

In most cases, it is not until a family of four reaches twice the federal poverty level ($37,700) that parents can provide their children with basic necessities, like housing, food, and health care.

In 2000, Arkansas’ elderly population was 491,409. Arkansas’s minority elderly population was 56,474, which was 11 percent of the entire elderly population.

Also according to US Bureau of the Census statistics, the proportion of Arkansas’ elderly population below poverty level was 23 percent, and the proportion of Arkansas’ minority elderly population below poverty level was 36 percent.

The number of elderly Arkansans below poverty level in 2000 was 113,153; and 24 percent of elderly Arkansans below poverty level were members of minority groups.

In 1999, there were 475,300 Arkansans were 60 or older. This represented 18.7% of the population and was the sixth highest percentage in the country.

There were 135 older women to every 100 older men in Arkansas.

The older population is getting older. In 1993, the 65-74 age group (196,885) was 3-3/4 times larger than in 1930, but the 75-84 age group (118,224) was 6 times larger and the 85+ age group (34,707) was almost 10 times larger.

The growth of the older population is slowing somewhat in the 1990s due to the birth of fewer babies during the Great Depression. The most rapid growth is expected to occur between 2010 and 2030 when the "baby boom" generation reaches 65. The elderly population will more than double between now and the year 2050.

22. This puts the world in perspective for many....

"What if...

If we could shrink the earth's population to precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like the following:

There would be:
57 Asians, 21 Europeans, 8 Africans
14 from the Western Hemisphere, both north and south

52 would be female, 48 would be male
70 would be non-white, 30 would be white
70 would be non-Christian, 30 would be Christian
89 would be heterosexual, 11 would be homosexual

6 people would possess 59% of the entire world's wealth and all 6 would be from the United States.
80 would live in substandard housing
70 would be unable to read

50 would suffer from malnutrition, 1 would be near death, 1 would be near birth
1 (yes, only 1) would have a college education, 1 would own a computer

When one considers our world from such a compressed perspective, the need for acceptance, understanding and education becomes glaringly apparent. The following is also something to ponder:

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness...you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week. If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation... you are ahead of 500 million people in the world. If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death... you are more blessed than three billion people in the world. If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep... you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace... you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy. If your parents are still alive and still married... you are very rare, even in the United States and Canada. If you can read this message, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all. Author Unknown"

Have you ever been to any apartment complexes that are HUD ?
Go take your own poll and see how many young and elderly have a computer much less internet.
This is what I do daily,
reach out to people who can not afford cable, satellite or computers.
Does not mean I knocked Arkansans' with some hillbilly stereotype,
means I live in the reality of poverty all around here.
Hiley

Edit to say that we have to educate people that have computers and all sorts of access too because as you know many Americans don't get what the hell is going on right in front of them anyhow.
Work to change things !

the young is excellent.
However, I cringe at Walmart but from what you wrote you already understand about Walmart.
Depending on were you live don't be surprised if someone has a fit about the flyers being left on their cars.
We leave them in the cart or engage people in conversation and then when they indicate not really knowing the truth we pass print outs to them.
Sometimes we share dvd's also.
good luck,
Hiley
