Cheap gas? That's the root cause of our problems.
Do you think it a coincidence that the country that uses 80% of the worlds non-renewable energy would do anything to keep the oil flowing at affordable prices?
Our mid east policy for the past 4 decades has been driven by the need for affordable oil to keep flowing. And the people of the region know it. And they hate us for it.
As long as affordable oil flows freely, business will have no incentive to make it's processes more efficient. Jerkoffs will continue to drive their pretentious, ridiculous 8 MPG Explorers to Starbucks.
Make no mistake about it. Your gastanks are filled with more than gas. They are also filled with blood. Have been for years.
The blood of over 1700 Americans, over 25,000 Iraqi civillians, and hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqi milita.
All so we can have cheap gas? Gimme a fucking break.
I say, make gas ten bucks a gallon. At the very least, we should pay as much as the rest of the world.
Drive a fucking Corolla, like I do.
Ten bucks a gallon would be good. It would make us less dependant on the middle east. It would also leave plenty of $$$ to line the pockets of those who would no longer profit from Iraq.
