Leaks and the leaking leakers who leak them . . . |
|
I find it very interesting that Fitzgerald was able to keep the investigation so completely leak free for two years and now seems to have completely lost control.
What's up with that? Two years of total silence and now there is a leak a day from staff, administration insiders, witnesses and just about everybody.
Anyone care to speculate?

4. Not sure about that. There are some that address things from |
|
inside the Grand Jury. Nothing specific which is illegal, but generic questions about discrepancies in testimony from Rove/Libby and others.
I can't see the benefit of those leaks to Rove.

7. I have no agenda, just curious what other DUer think about the |
|
sudden release of inside information after two years of silence.
I don't see how all the leaks are in Rove's favor. I welcome your discussion of how the rumors of perjury help him out or how the memo marked Secret, or the 12 hour head's up work in the administration's favor.

9. None of what you have cited was leaked by the grand jury or |
|
the prosecutors office.
Rumors of perjury come from what Rove has stated and what Luskin has stated.
The Memo being marked Secret comes from the State Department.
The 12 hours heads up comes from Gonzales.
Again, what's your agenda?

10. Again, I have no agenda. |
|
I am well aware that neither the Grand Jury nor the Prosecutor's office has leaked anything. Leaks are coming from people who have heard testimony--clerks or aids or the like.
For two years there were no leaks from anyone to speak of. Now it's one a day almost. What's changed? Why are people who wouldn't speak before willing to speak now? Asking strictly for speculation here.
So, Walt, why are you ascribing some agenda to the question?

12. "clerks or aids or stuff |
|
Nothing you cited came from clerks, aids, GJ testimony, or "stuff". EVERYTHING comes from outside the courtroom. EVERYTHING.
Again, what's your agenda?

3. There are some plumbing issues coming from the White House |

Fitz is not responsible for any of the leaks. Nobody knows where he is going with the case. White House is convicting themselves in the process.

5. I think you are right, Fitzgerald is clean on any dissemination of |
|
information. He has a really good reputation for being a stand up guy.
What I find interesting is that every speaks on the condition of anonymity because the "prosecutor has instructed not to speak of the investigation" It worked for two years, why not now?

8. well as far as i know the leaks haven't come from the |
|
court itself - only people who've spoken to the courts.
and why now? because it took the Supremes turning away the case to get it the heck out of appeals, and tossy judy in the slammer.
now that's a story.

11. Judy going to jail really did give the White House press corps |
|
a spine. Nothing like having your own ox gored to stir the blood in your veins.
