Can Justice Stevens hold on until '08? |

If Rehnquist retires and Bush appoints another conservative, ok, we can deal with that. Roberts we can deal with too.
But if Stevens retires, or gets sick, and Bush appoints a conservative in his place, well then we have a serious serious issue.
Anyone know his state of health?

He is in good health considering he is the oldest man on the Court. I talked to his brother once, (younger brother, now gone) who said Justice Stevens had no plans of retiring anytime soon. He's got some years left in him.

The last year of a presidency the Senate can stall. That is what happened to nearly all of Clinton's 2000 appointments.
