I thought I heard Rangel mention at the Black Caucaus that Juan Williams had to leave or something like that. Did I miss hearing and if not was he there as a speaker or what?. I thought he was a Republican. Couldn't stand him on NPR.

1. Yeah. I don't like him either. |

But he will weakly disagree with his masters when they are too far out on the limb.
Maybe he thought being there would hurt his standing, him working so hard to get credibility with "important white people" and all.
He missed out on opportunity that's for sure.

2. Sometimes he can be good |

My take is he kinda got lazy and bored once he was working on "senior correspondent" status ... and that he looked bad in comparison to the brilliant Ray Suarez when he took over as host of "Talk of the Nation". But when he gets an assignment that interests him, he still can be very good... I think he really shone during the Trent Lott/Strom Thurmond flap a year ago.

Juan doesn't "weakly disagree" with his FauxMasters Brit HUME and such. He gets PIMP SLAPPED by Brit. He's a smart dude but at some point he threw his lot in with the wingnuts, so ... no sympathy for WHATEVER.
