Who else thinks there should be a test |
|
for presidential candidates?Congress members too. We'll call it No politician Left Behind.I mean I expect the president to be above average intelligence in math ,Science, english, should at least have a grasp of the language, and history.I think this will help us avoid future embarassment. It's getting ridiculous how dense some of our elected officials are,led of course by the dumb as a turnip president.

Add the test to the driver's license test. If they fail the special test, they can't vote till they pass it each time they renew their license.

9. We had one of those once. Very handy for keeping blacks out of the polls |
|
So I would say probably this is not something we will be revisiting.

11. Well, there are a whole lot of people... |
|
... in this country who remember a time when "tests" for voters meant the means to exclude them. Hence the Voting Rights Act.
Education is the key--getting people to connect their own disenfranchisement and disillusionment with the people for whom they're voting.

Though I used like to think "Anybody can be President"... however, I have seen it devastating effects... I want standardized testing for all federal public SERVANTS. Most important being correct perceptions of American History, a thorough understanding of at least English (Bilingual a plus), economics ..., I'm getting carried away. They should also be drug tested before service and randomly throughout their service.

14. All candidates should be fully "vetted" by a panel of |
|
jopurnalists.. a "Super Gaggle", and there should be questions submitted by ordinary people too.. Instead of runnign all over the country regurgitating talking points, they should have to sit for at least 3 a month of these "sessions"..
About a month before the elections, they could be re-run on a special channel on tv..
That would let us know how these guys/women think on their feet and what there positions are on a myriad of issues..
That's all we really need.

speaking of.....
that's one of the things that really p*ssed me off about Kerry and Edwards.
I mean, they are intelligent, erudite men. They can pontificate for hours off the cuff. :wtf: were they doing spouting the same tired lame cliches time after time after time instead of actively answering the damn questions???!!!!!!??? :dunce:
I want a real PERSON! Not a talking head who says whatever sound byte they've been told to say at that point in time! :banghead:
whew. sorry. rant over.....

|
if they had complete power. THAT's the measure of a man.,.not some "focus-group tested" phrases..
They seem to forget that everyone had TV these days, and telling the same lame joke for the 50th time is annoying..not endearing
