Freepers at the feed store today. I filled up my deer feeders.
Edited on Sat Sep-27-03 08:20 PM by bearfan454
They were getting 300 bags of trophy buck corn. 15,000 pounds. I got 20 bags. 1000 pounds. You have to pay for it first and then back up to the dock to get it loaded. When I backed up they saw my Democratic Underground bumpersticker in my back window. One guy looked at my sticker for a long time and then told his buddy - look at that. His buddy told him - He must be one of those liberals. I laughed. They started bragging about how much they paid on their lease - 1400 a gun for 10 of them for 2 months. Then they asked me - Hey Democrat, how much is your lease ? I told them I don't have a lease, I own the land. Remember ? I am a liberal. See you fellows later. I smiled and felt good when I drove off.

secondly that they are not Texans that grew up on or with the land. (they probably are not even Texans.)

18. They think I am weird at work when I tell them: Hey did you sign
the petition that tells bush it is wrong to take overtime pay away from hourly workers. What are you talking about ? They know exactly what I am talking about. They know he is screwing them too, but their ideology is so strong that they cannot admit it. I even asked one: Do you want the law to be that you don't get overtime ? She said - They would never do that. It makes me sick how uninformed most of the people are.

41. The really, really sad part is that they do not believe that the repukes
mean them or will do them any harm. They have been programmed to blame all of their troubles on Clinton and the Dems and they just cannot believe that the repukes will do them dirt. So very sad. They are like ostriches and refuse to see the harm that is being done to them on a daily basis.

9. Yes I feed about 300 year round and take 5 every year.
I use Antlermax to improve the antler size too. It really works. Tx is one of the few states where you can legally bait them in. They do it because of the overpopulation problem that exists. For $23.00 I can legally kill 2 bucks, 3 does, 4 turkeys, and all the hogs I want. That is a lot of meat for the freezer. I don't like doves so I don't even hunt them. They taste like shit. But deer meat rules !

Seriously, they're no bigger than a collie. Teeny, tiny little things. I'm used to Montana Mule Deer. Quite comical to even think of hunting here. Eastern Oregon is different, or elk even, but not deer.

11. That's how it works in parts of the South
verrrry strange to see "wildlife corn" for sale in rural gas stations stores and such. Out west, some of the practices there would be considered poaching, but it's just they way they do things, and the fact is that there aren't as many large tracts of public land to hunt on.

I agree, there's a big herd that needs culling.

We always have deer hanging around our place, sometimes they annoy me when they eat my garden but I'm learning what plants they don't eat. I don't want to fence because nearly everyone else on our road is deer fenced off and they have no other way to pass through.

21. I was at the Wal-Mart in Brady this afternoon and was looking at the
books They had a great deal of the religious variety and several of Anne C's but they also had Al's book and there were only 2 left. I was quite impressed. Of course, I do not know what they had to begin with, but I was happy to see the book there at all and if the copies are still here the next time I'm in town, I'll buy them and give them to friends. Also, you should know that the Kothmans, of whom there are many, are relatives, as is just about every native of the area. If you get a chance to go to the old cemetery, look at the Wilhelm plot. That is the direct line. Johanna was a matriarch and the line has gone through the women ever since. Was you land sopping wet? What a great, lovely amount of rain we have had.

I should register to vote out here. I explained to him that I was a liberal, a feminist and a Democrat and that was not going to happen, tthat it was much too conservative for me. He said that he felt sure as a land owner that I would soon change my mind because only the repukes CARED about the rancher and farmer. My southern lady manners kept me from throwing up on him.

I almost got stuck a couple of times today. I had to reinforce my stand, top off the other 2 feeders, set up a new feeder, move a tripod, and take down an old stand and use the 2 x 4's for bracing. I'm darn tired after bbqing hamburgers and hot dogs.

He and his wife are Texans but have been living in Montana and he brought up the subject of how the air quality has changed in Texas. I went on a small rant about the toxic king. I just could not stop myself. He was very polite and declined to comment. Probably needs the business.

I sometimes think that the freeper types who consistantly vote Repug do so because they have this fantasy that someday they will become rich and then they won't have to pay no damn taxes if the Repugs are in office. Hedging their bets, they are.
