I like this Maryland-specific email from Kerry. Thought I'd share
Dear xxxxx,

In a few hours, Karl Rove will leave the White House.

But, he won't be heading into retirement -- and he won't be traveling to Capitol Hill to answer questions concerning his involvement in leaking information about a covert CIA agent.

Believe it or not, in the midst of all the controversy about his leading a campaign to discredit national security agents in order to cover up White House lies and misinformation about the war in Iraq, Karl Rove is hitting the campaign trail to raise money for Maryland Republican candidates.

That's right. He's the big draw at a Maryland GOP fundraising event tonight aimed at raising money for Republican candidates running in 2006.

Let's step up to the challenge. As Karl Rove's limousine leaves the White House to take him to the GOP fundraiser, we'll drive powerful grassroots support to the Maryland Democratic Party candidates Rove and his scorched-earth political tactics are working so hard to defeat.

Support the Maryland Democratic Party

Rove and his sleazy campaign tactics will look familiar to Maryland Republican leaders like Governor Ehrlich and Lt. Governor Steele who learned their campaign lessons from Karl Rove's dirty tricks playbook.

Just as Karl Rove and the Bush White House won't come clean about dirty tricks against a CIA agent, the Ehrlich-Steele Administration continues to cover up and stonewall efforts to learn the truth about their own dirty tricks operation -- led by the governor's old right-hand man Joseph Steffen.

No wonder Karl Rove is raising money for Michael Steele. After all, Karl Rove and the Ehrlich-Steele Administration have something in common: They've had many opportunities to come clean -- but each time we get the same games and half-truths.

Ehrlich's policy initiatives are as bankrupt as his political tactics. Not only has the cost of higher education increased by 40% under his leadership, but he has raised a host of other taxes on Marylanders and vetoed an increase in the minimum wage.

The Rove event tonight is part of a White House fundraising blitz. They know GOP candidates won't have an easy job explaining away the Bush administration's disastrous policy failures, or the political scandals that are the hallmark of both the Bush and Ehrlich administrations. So, they're working to load GOP candidates up with cash.

Last week President Bush traveled to Virginia to raise money for ultra-conservative Republican gubernatorial candidate Jerry Kilgore. Meanwhile, Dick Cheney traveled to New Jersey last Friday to campaign for Bush fundraiser Doug Forrester in his campaign against Senator Jon Corzine in this year's other critical governor's race.

Now, instead of being fired by President Bush, Rove is being sent out to fire up the Republican faithful. If you think the last thing Maryland needs is more Rove Republicans, act now. Help give Maryland Democratic candidates the tools they need to fight back:

Support the Maryland Democratic Party

Bush, Rove and Cheney are all working so hard because they know that Democratic victories in Maryland can break their political momentum and make it harder to impose their misguided policies and rigid right-wing agenda on America.

Maryland Democratic candidates deserve the full support of the entire johnkerry.com community in Maryland. And, with Karl Rove set to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to support the Bush agenda in Maryland, there has never been a better time to act than right now.

Let's send a powerful message. We want Karl Rove out of the White House -- and we want Rove-style tactics out of Maryland politics.

Thank you,

John Kerry

I like it. I want one. Why can't Rove come to Wisconsin.

Ack. Did I just say that?

Edited on Wed Jul-27-05 02:21 AM by Carolab
trekking all over the country, flying here there and everywhere, doing his DAMNEDEST to get support for progressive Dems and raise money for the 50-state strategy. While Hillary plays nice with the DLC and does NOTHING to help progressives and grassroots efforts to win the fight.

PLEASE support the DNC! It's ALL WE HAVE!!!
